Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

Hello, i went to gurnee today and passed a junkyard and i saw something that looked like the stairs from shockwave in a pile of stuff. It was blue. Is this possible. This junkyard was in racine.

Possible? Yes.
Likely? No.

Six Flags cut up all the pieces of shockwave on site and loaded them into dumptrucks. Since a lot of shockwave is quality steel it was probably melted down a lot time ago (steel fetches quite a bit for 1 ton).

Didn't they use some of Shockwave's stairs at the beginning of Whizzer's stair's? They are spiral stairs and are located at the beginning of the lift on the left side of the track. Check em out next time your there.

I don't think so. Just because you saw a blue stair doesn't mean it was shockwave's. Besides, the steel was melted. All of it.

Yes, that's correct. I think someone pointed that out in an opening day trip report. (Something I hadn't/will never have noticed if it hadn't been pointed out. You can tell it's new because the fencing isn't rusting like the rest of the ride :) )

No. They melted that down right away. Steel is VERY expensive right now.

Umm when did I say they were blue? They are painted the same green as Whizzer's supports, vomit green!

^ I doubt that bolt was stolen. They gave a few Shock Wave bolts away at No Coaster Con 2003 if you answered a trivia question (I got one). They also auctioned 2 of them at No Coaster Con 2004.

I remember hearing on here that people were bragging that the took them from the parking lot when the ride was just sitting there.

I've never been to any ACE events so I have no clue what goes on at them.
