God dang kids

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

Is it me or do the stupid kids jump in front of the line every ride? Even when your getting into the park the idiots are doing it there. I told one of them to get to the back and he just sorta ran without the lady checking him first.

No offence, but horrible name to a topic.

I was at the park on 05/30/05 and line skipping was very bad. Way too many times you would have one kid in line and then 5-10 of his buddies would skip in line and then all ight up there cigs in line which was also bad.
It was very busy and i saw some of th worst behaved kids i have seen in the park in a long time, be it smoking in line/skipping ahead and using profanities. And when i told this to ride ops they just had a DUMB look on there face and did nothing.

I'm only 16 and I hate line jumpers! I mean the line is going to the same place. It would take you just as much time getting past everyone to get to where you want, than if you just waited in line. I mean what is the big deal? Wait just like everyone else, I never have a problem with waiting. I only get out of line if I really have to, such as a bathroom emergency, or something. Once I leave the line I don't cut back in. That just ruins everyones time at the park. So any of you younger kids here, don't be cutting in line please! LOL:)

Last year on Vu, I got some girls kicked out of line by simply yelling "Line Jumpers!" so that the op could hear me. He kicked them out right away. Sad part for them was, it was after 10:00, so they couldn't get back in line.

I like to use the line from the Rodney Dangerfield "Back to School" movie. I tell them to bring me a note from each person in line saying it's OK for them to butt in and then I'll let them in.

It usually gets some strange looks and m ost of the time it works.

Even if people bigger and older than me line jump I always yell line jumper, but nobody ever does anything. At the tour, Sevart said something along the lines of that they didn't want to eject people from the park for line jumping, because they could say it was because of racism or anything along those lines. Also, if you kick a 12 year old kid out of a park for line jumping, and they don't have a ride home because they're parents dropped them off or something, then they are responsible for the kid.

Personally though, if I saw some 12 year old kid line jumping I would stop them and if they don't listen then tell an op. In line for V1 this year, some guy was two or three switchbacks away from his friend, and his exact words were "screw it" and then he climbed under the handrails and stood next to his friend. We were only about 10 feet away from the grouper/ fastlane person. When we got up there I told him that people were line jumping and all he did was nod.

Anyways, it is a big issue, but they should have it under controll in the next few years.

Luckily for me I've haven't had too big of a deal with line jumpers. Normally if someone DOES jump in front of me I'll shout "line jumper right here" and point to him/her. If they're behind me I don't do anything.

Bingo. That, I am sure is one of the main reasons they do hardly anything about line jumpers. I mean no disrespect to anybody, and I am by no means a racist, but, I have noticed that 85% of line jumpers are African American. I was waiting last Saturday to take my daughter on her first trip on the Whizzer, and we were up by the turnstyles when out of no where, two African American girls walk right by us, no "excuse me" or nothing, and walks right into the station next to their buddies. The worker who was standing there just looked at me, rolled her eyes, and shook her head as if she was saying, "yeah, this happens all the time." Its just frustrating when you have been waiting in line for over an hour, just to have 2-3 people just cut into line. :x

Employees should be doing everything within their control to stop line jumpers. Make sure you take it to Guest Relations and note the employee's name. Then, maybe Six Flags will start doing something about it.

I think that the reason line jumping occurs is because people let it happen. Instead of complaining about it, try taking matters into your own hands. Everytime I've ridden Demon, there are always kids who tries to skip. The 1st time this happened, I told the ride op and he tried to ignore that it happened. When I told him that I wanted to speak to his supervisor about this, then he wanted to do his job and make the kids get at the end of the line. Try that method and see if it works (and don't be so nice about it when you complain about it).

Another problem is that if people of minority groups find out that they can get away with line jumping because of their race, then they will do it. And if the park doesn't find a way to deal with this, then line jumping will get worse. Most likely SFGAM will find a good way to deal with this. I would suggest putting a very large sign in front of the entrance that says line jumpers will be kicked out of line or out of the park. I don't think that a 8 year old kid who goes to buy his mom nachos should be kicked out of line, unless there is a person selling food at a certain point in the line (American Eagle).

Yeah thats a great idea. A sign that says no line jumping, why haven't they thought of that yet? j/k

The best instance I ever saw was someone line jumped on IW and a group of guys started throwing their basketballs at them and would keep doing it until they left the line, WHICH THEY DID! Now that is justice.

That was a long time ago when IW was new and all the switchbacks were being used and the line extended into county fair game area.

Onetime me and my friends were waiting in line for revolution and this really short kid all by himself came and stopped right between me and another person in my group. And he claimed that, that was his spot. Which was obviously a lie seeing as he stopped in between my group. None of us really cared though because we were getting on revolution that time no matter what.
And then when we got up to the op he told the kid that he was too short. And at this moment for some strange reason the kid had cell phone out like he was talking to someone, even though he wasn't, he wasn't calling anybody either, and I bet that it wasn't even on. And then as the kid started heading down the stairs the op told him he could exit through the ride but then he just mumbled that he was too short and marched off.
Although he cut it was a funny moment of the day.

I just hope that one day it doesn't get to the point were somebody, or somebodies, get fed up with it, and decide to handle the situation themselves.

I was kicked out of the park because some lil' 5 graders decided that my foot is where they had been waiting. They started getting loud and whatnot and a fight broke out. We explained that they swung first and line jumped, some people in line vouched for us too, and the let my cousin and I back in line with a harsh warning. The funny part is they were kicked out without a phone nor ride untill the end of the night.

Line jumping for rides...but you can't forget my biggest pet peeve, cutting in line for food. Which really makes me mad. I can tolerate ride lines, becuase someone will do something about it. My friend was waiting in line for a hotdog by the AE tent, some random kids come up and just go infront of him. Some people are just plain inconsiderate.

Tried to, I just got a weird look.

I need to make a shirt that says...

On the back: "If you try to cut infront of me, bad things will happen."

On the front: "I warned you"
