When upgrading a "Bring a Friend For Free" ticket to a season pass, does the pass have to be processed on that specific day or do you get a voucher that can be processed on the next visit? Thanks!
To upgrade a regular day admission ticket to a season pass requires admission to the park on a regular priced ticket. This means no coke discounts, etc.
And yes, if you wish to upgrade a general admission ticket to a season pass I believe you need to get it processed the same day. You do get a voucher, but I don't know if its valid on other days. Why wouldn't you process it if your already at the park?
If you buy a ticket for full price at the gate the upgrade price to a season pass is $39.99. If you convert any other special ($15 off coupon, Bring a friend free coupon, or whatever) the upgrade price for a season pass is $49.99.
Yep, your S-i-L and nephew can get in for free and upgrade to a Season Pass for $49.99 and change. I did that for a friend yesterday, and worked just fine. Just take their ticket stub to the Season Pass center register, right near the entrance on your right.
I agree, my friend and i were at the park the other day, she used a bring a friend free coupon, and they didnt even ask for the ticket stub, because obvoiusly you paid to get into the park, or you wouldnt be Inside the Guest Relations Building.
You don't really agree, it's either a "yes" or "no" answer. Eagle04, have you actually verified that ANY ticket can be upgraded by calling the park, or are you just assuming that based on your experience with the $25.00 ticket?
StealthNet, sorry, but this only expains what I am assuming happens. It doesn't necessarily answer your question:
When upgrading a "Bring a Friend For Free" ticket to a season pass, does the pass have to be processed on that specific day or do you get a voucher that can be processed on the next visit? Thanks!
What you'll do is present the Bring a Friend for Free coupon at the ticket booths before you enter the park. They'll exchange that for a regular ticket that you use to enter the park. It is not a season pass voucher at this point. Once you're in the park, go the Pass Processing Center next to Triple Play and exchange that (along with $50.00) for a season pass voucher. It is the same voucher Six Flags would mail you if you bought it online or hand you at Guest Relations if you bought it at the front of the park for regular price. Then, you can get the pass right away, or use the voucher to come in another time and get the pass processed then. You must present the voucher when you get the pass processed.
I have never done the upgrade, so as I said, I'm not sure if you actually get the voucher at all. The entire process may take place as soon as you hand them the $50.00. I hope this helps. Your best bet is to call the park directly and ask them.
It is indeed ANY admission ticket. Whether it be a complementary ticket, discount ticket from Jewel, the Read to Succeed ticket program, tickets for a company picnic, whatever. They will all work. And you shouldn't need your stub.
What, like the park ISN'T going to take your money if you offer it to them? Yeah right.
Well, if they have been somewhat laxed in asking for vouchers that will probably change on "Bring a friend for free" days because there will be MANY more people in the park. Last year, the entire parking lot filled on those days, and that was before Hurricane Harbor took so much ample parking space.
As it is, I was asked for a stub in order to get a season pass. The told me that they cant upgrade your ticket to a season pass without one. Now I'm sure thats just what they have been told to say.
Again, you might get lucky, or you might not. No garauntees that it will work.

What are you saying? That the park will cut back on the "Bring a freind for free days" upgrade, because there will be too many people in the park? I am a little confused by your wording.

I was stating that I wouldn't be surprised if Six Flags employees were more stringent on those days in asking for a ticket stub because of the number of free tickets given out.

Why would they care about if you had a stub or not?
Look at it this way. You aren't sure if you want a season pass or not. Wow look, it's only $50 bucks to upgrade!! But then the employee tells you that you need a stub. You don't end up getting one because you have to pay full price. That employee just screwed the company out of $50 being "stringent". Now $50 is a drop in the bucket when you compare the amount of money the park takes in on a daily basis. But over a whole day, that can be quite a lot.
So you are telling me, that the park WILL NOT take your money, just because you don't have a stub? They are going to refuse to TAKE YOUR MONEY, thats what you are saying?
Just wanted to make sure that I was clear on the fact that you think the park WILL NOT take the money.
I am surprised that Six Flags has not changed the computer system, so that it forces the person at the register to ask for the ticket stub. All they would have to do is set it up that is will ask the person to scan the ticket stub before it lets them ring up the upgrade.
Also, for Season Pass upgrade, I believe you need to process your pass the same day you upgrade it.
When I upgraded to a Season Pass earlier this season, all I received was what looked like a simple receipt. It had lines where I had to fill in my information, the same as you would a voucher.

I got it now.
Well, with MY experience upgrading they told me they CANNOT sell anyone a season pass upgrade without a ticket stub. Now, I don't think that Joe Teenager who is working for just over minimum wage is really going to care about the better good of the company that is employing him for the next 3 months.
And if they could, why sell something to someone for just 50.00 when you can sell it to them for 99.00?
Jason, I think the point was being made that if you show any ticket stub for that day whether it was a free admission, they will honor it and sell you a season pass for $50. They would rather sell you the pass for $50 then not make a sale at all. They now know you will return that season and hopefully do some in-park spending. Win-win for everyone.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.
I'm the thread starter and it worked. I bought my pass back in December along with three other friends for $75 each, but my parents decided to get passes after I've heard of others getting theirs for $50. Otherwise, they planned to go today and maybe get a premium MVP to come back another day. SFGAm gave them no problems with upgrading the comp tickets to season passes.
As Chitown said, it is win-win for everyone. There are some who would be getting season passes no matter what so it is somewhat taking advantage of the system, however, my parents probably were not going to get season passes untill I mentioned how this deal works. Now they will be coming back at least a few more times this season when it probably would have been only one more on an MVP otherwise. My parents spend $15+ in the park everytime they go so SFGAm will benefit in the end.
