Just a bit more on this...

Us dead people have to eat so sometimes we are sent to lunch (meaning there wont be as many people in there. Other times we take breaks. I would love to have twice as many zombies in Necro but it just wont happen. Money is always an issue at these events. Those of us that ARE there WILL do our best to scare you though. For the most part we do (of course there are those that think they can't get scared)

We try our best to make it fun for you.

See you there!!!

da rcman2001 wrote:Frightfestchica, I have allways wanted this question answered but have never asked before. At fright fest, allthough the website lists all of those characters, do all of the spots fill up? Because at the event i never see that many people. So do all of those spots fill or are those just job opportunities?

And also if the maus character list is the same as last year does that mean the haunted house wil be the exact same? Thanks.

For the most part the Characters haven't changed. They did try some new stuff last year like clowns in Necro. But they still have grave diggers, zombies, doctors, lady with a baby :-) janitor, Mayor Slayer, things that a town should have.

all Necro parts are great - pretty much the most popular area. Even though Trolls and Clowns fill up first, but theres only so many. I don't think Evvy is coming back either. I never talked to her - but she would definatly scare people. I hope she decideds too - but she wasn't at auditions. We shall see =)

Are the trolls going to be scary this year? The event is called FRIGHT FEST. All they did last year was spraypaint boxes and count farts til they could go home. They used to be the coolest characters.

The Trolls Will be There As far as I know. you guys need to stop complaining about the people who play the characters! they work so hard and all I have really read on these forms are people complaining that they dont like the characters if you dont like the event dont come!

Just remember the park is family orientated, also you were probably a lot younger and were more scared of things, I knwo i used to think about that to but i just got older and things were not as scary anymore.

No the event really was scarier. The characters were cooler, and there were a lot more of them. I didnt even go until 2000 and it was better. I didnt even see what it was like in the 90s.

And i think the park should change its policies and ways of running fright fest. The theming was awesome last year (smoke, dead people and king kong in sky strek tower, colered lights on miday, and red lights on eagle), but it could be way better. If they warned people that if they have kids to go home before dark and charge serate for the halloween event they could make more moneyand not have to worry about scaring little kids, thus resulting in better haunted houses and scarier characters. Out of all of the park chains, even though fright fest is the most well known, it isnt the best. Probibly is the worst. Kennywood, Hersheypark, PKI, Knotts, the Busch Gardens Chain, and universal all put on huge events with multiple houses. I'm not dissing anyone at jpm in this paragraph, Im dissing six flags. They seriously need to comletely change the way they run the event and rise the bar for the better. While Im writing this, i am remebering how much last years event really weas great, but the scarier the better.

BTW, what were some of the really cool old school characters you used to see at fright fest in the 1990s?

Another question, how was the brutal planet house and section? Who were the charcters, how scary were they, how good and what were some of the scenes in the house? Thanks.

The coolest character ever at Fright Fest was Chucky from the Chucky movies, he would bang on garbage cans and other stuff like that, it was awesome.

Agh people keep repeating the same things over and over again. Someone says that's its not scary enough and then the same people have to keep repeating the same thing.
Just take the answer and let it go.

Plain and Simple "TAKE IT TO THE PARK" We can only do so much. If you think its not scary look in a mirror okay. It can only be so scary. We get lawsuits. If you would like to pay millions of dollars in lawsuits because of stupid people - be my quest. until then we can only do what we are told. which is to tone it down. If you think it was great in past years - hey spend your time building a time machine to go back in stead of sitting on the computer and complaining about it. its only going to make people mad. But in all honesty - Fright Fest is scary - To my understanding we have people piss their pants, crap their pants, throw up, If it wasn't scary would we get a reaction like that?? i think not. I know people like to complain - i do to. but complain to people who can change it. Scott, Mike and I don't have the authority to do that. We just try to make you all have a great halloween. Understand - we give up EVERY weekend in Oct, and HALLOWEEN Night! JUST so you can have a great time.

I know I said it a million times. But come on - We give up alot and its like no one appreciates it. It hurts.

I agree that everyone needs to stop complaining about how "cool" and "scary" Fright Fest used to be. It's the park as a whole that makes up Fright Fest. The Halloween themed music.. the charecters jumping out.. the smell of the kerosene from the lanterns.. come on people it's Fright Fest as a whole that is awesome! The charecters are awesome. They give away their weekends in October to entertain us. Really until any of us go auditon for the parts do we have any complaining rights! To all on the board that is doing Fright Fest this year and have done years in the past.. thank you! Thank you for giving me something to look forward to and thank you for giving me many many cherished memories in the past. Can't wait until this year!

P.S. Fright Fest Chica~ that's funny becuase I was submitting my response about you guys giving up every single weekend in Oct just to entertain us while you were submitting your respose. Some of us have not forgotton what you guys are giving up :)

Thank you PunkBunny. I complain too, but when I have somewhat of a right. :D I love doing this job, I love meeting the people who work there and who are guests. But this year hasn't even started, and the people that i met at auditions were great. There are over 200 people who went this weekend, gave up hours to audition, and so much time they could be using to go out with friends just to make another year of Fright Fest soo memerable. Also - some of these people didn't get parts they wanted and they are still willing to do the show, so are people from hours and hours away... Some characters stay up here in gurnee EVERY weekend to do this when they live near peoria. (Its crazy - but true) Their whole paycheck goes to the hotel. I mean come on - thats Halloween love =)

To those of your who are worried about this years show - dont. I promise this year will be great. We have old school trolls coming back!! I think those will definatly be a hit this year hehehe

I had fun with  smilies  Sorry :!: 8)

Where are the trolls going to be located? Are they going to be by batman or deja vu this year?

Yep - The pay is good - don't get me wrong, but some people don't even do it for making money, they do it just for the fun. Some people do it just as long as they have enough for gas, and believe it or not - some people put LOTS of money into adding alot to their own costumes. My friend spikez went through like 20 million hockey sticks last year, and broke two fingers - yet still did the rest of the event. Its pretty cool. =p

The Trolls are where they always are.. (Except the one year due to construction) They are at troll bridge by orbit.
