Sunday night was the last Jumpin' Jammin' Jubilee Parade of the season. Sure it was corny but great fun for those of us with kids. They added a few extra fireworks for the last one also.
Sunday was also the last regular show of the season for Manny B and the Rythmn Knights on the Margi Gras Stage. They will be back during Fright Fest though.
I know some folks make fun of "a bunch of old guys playing rock music" but they can really play. Their closing set kicked butt on Sunday!
Alas, there's just a couple weeks left of weekday operations too. After the 29th it's weekend only except for Labor day.
To bring a little light to the topic, SFGAm will still be open for two months after August. Yes, the weekdays are ending, but the weekends will still be here. Yeah!!! I guess that's why Ron/Wolf said that they will start the construction in a couple weeks (open weekends only).
By looking at some of these topics, you would think SFGAm is closing in a couple days (SFGAm goal, Hurricane Harbor is coming, This Topic, and Your Favorite Bathroom). I would hate to see what you guys and girls talk about during the offseason. I wouldn't be surpised if someone made up a topic such as "The Parking Lot Is Empty", or "Did You Know They Have A Security Guard?"
I wanted to go to the park from opening till the time I can leave not till it closes though because I have to wake up early the next day. Me and my cousin said to ride as much as the rides over again and again since we start school. Sadly enough we cant do it now and which really pisses me off because on fright fest I just walk around more tahn ride the rides why because the people that scare you and the haunted house.
Dont you guys miss the original season once your at fright fest?
No matter how hard it is...Never EVER give up. The real failure is those who dont try.

If you want to go on the property while it's gated off that's your problem. You can get arrested and prosecuted just like the giant sign on the fence next to the gate says.
^I know you love my topics, but I would have to pass on those two.

All you young pups out there Savor Every Visit for as we grow older time is The Tempest. I still can't beleive next year will be year 30 for me. When the park opened I was able to enjoy winter because of Old Chicago. Adventureland was also a option and many people went to Fun Town. All are now gone, yes I even went to RiverView and still do to shop. Every Seson I make it my best because you never know. No I'm not worried about the Park Closing but I Never thought the others would back then. For all we have and any park today for that matter look what we lost. I Loved Shockwave 4595 times of loving. Same goes for Z-Force I remember Media Day in July. Tidal Wave a work of art and a lost art. Power Dive yes Ieven enjoyed that like The Edge before it. The Sky Whirl Never sould we have lost the Parks Heart. At K.I. The Bat what a ride Thanks Arrow. The King Cobra it started the StandUp Revolution. Progress is great but at a cost. Look at Whizzer and Columbia And Hometown Square and thank the Lord there still there. Yes, the future is bright and I envy you youngsters what a ride it's been so far. The future can only bring bigger and better things.
By the way I do beleive 30 Security People work year round. And The Park has a Protection Securtity System Around it. I can tell you when I went up for construction of Iron Wolf For At The Park or planning outtings Security is dead serious, so don't risk it you'll loose. By the way I do miss the park over the Winter but I know everyday it's a BeeHive of Activity heck most of the flats are back up by February. ENJOY THE REST OF YOUR STAY AT SIX FLAGS GREAT AMERICA 2005. PEACE
During the normal season, i wish it was fright fest and i always bring up ff memories. During fright fest i always with it was the normal season. FF is good, but columbus day is better.
I know how much you love Shockwave, and that's why I want to ask this. This was a person (40's or 50's) who was riding SUF in my row awhile ago (I'm not sure whether it was this year, or last year.), and they said that they liked Shockwave better than this. If it was you, your wife was in a different row.
Considering that you said that you have been going to the park for 30 years, it could have been you or someone else. Who knows, I'm just asking.
Stop depressing me people. It will still be open for two months.

You can tell the regular(summer) season is winding down because American Eagle Blue is closed for staffing issues, as well as the Hometown Sqaure station for Scenic Railway.(At least during weekdays.)
Sunday was also the last regular show of the season for Manny B and the Rythmn Knights on the Margi Gras Stage. They will be back during Fright Fest though.
yeah. lets all hope that they dont start another fire like they did last season.
It's green. It's blue. It's all over you! Enjoy your ride on Déjà Vu
And you probably won't see DejaVu, unless it is a weekend. Or if it is actually able to operate.(Remember how it was closed weekdays in May for staffing?)
That's make me bring up a good point. Why don't they have a calendar with times and dates on the back of the map?
