There is only one ride I do not like going on, that ride is Sky Trek Tower, the cable goes, I am dead. I will ride everything else, as long as it looks exciting.
Universal Orlando Mechanical Engineer Marathon down, Goofy to go.

I think they have either 9 or 16 cables holding that thing, but yeah, I know what you mean.

So, You mean to tell me your afraid of elevators too?

I was just thinking that if you want to skip a rollercoaster because you are scared of the what could happen, RB, Demon, and SUF don't have backups. If they open, you could fall out.
Other rides such as D Vu have seatbelts to hold the harness down (not a lot, but still it closes enough with just seat belt) even when the harness opens. On V2, you have the extra seatbelt to hold the harness down. IW you also have the seatbelt holding you in.
I think someone said that with SUF you would be hanging by your feet. However, if the harness opens, so do your feet. They work at the same time as seen in the station.

Want to hear something ridiculous . . . the workers at SFWoA used to open X-Flight every morning and ride with the vest behind them. I don't know if you're familiar with the Vekoma Flyer, but all they would have is the lapbar. I don't know how they did it, but it's pretty insane.
I'll check that out. I was kind of surprised when I first went on SUF and that it doesn't have the platform under the lift like BTR does. At least this way if someone ever did fall, they would slide down that.

....they have a cart that runs underneath (which is what the rails for on the right side).

...which is a result of crap line management most SF parks besides GAm has..

See, I knew I shouldn't have read this topic an hour before I leave for the park. Because I am a paranoid person. I always have been..lol. But I wasn't paraniod about rides.
When I was a teenager, nothing scared me. No matter what coaster or ride I was on, I was never afraid of something happening. In my mind I believed that if the ride wasn't safe, it wouldn't be open. Or that when these rides are designed and built the "what if's" are thought out, etc.
But for some reason, over the past 2 or 3 seasons, I have become a scaredy cat. Take the Condor for example. You couldn't pay me to get on that thing now. Heck no. Not gonna happen. And while I LOVE Raging Bull, and go on it as often as possible, it scares me. And not in the good way. More like I think "okay, this lap bar just doesn't feel tight enough, what's going to happen on the first drop". That kind of thing.
I just try to ignore it, and figure well if it's my time to go, I can't control it.

Batman doesn't have a platform under the lift either, just some netting that (most likely) would not hold a person if they fell. Besides half of what makes Superman fun is how scared the first-timers get because they are being lifted while looking straight at the ground.
Both BTR and SUF have emergency platforms that can be moved all the way up or down the lift hill to disembark passengers in an emergency.
And, to the best of my knowledge, there has never been a fatality due to ejection from a B&M coaster. Thus I feel extremely secure on SUF, BTR, IW, and especially on RB.
Actually, the net was what I was talking about. I think that could hold. It's not made like a cheap net. The platform that moves back and forth wouldn't help at all. It would be too late. Also, I have to say that extra holes don't help at all. The bar that goes in the holes could unlock just like it does in the station.
I don't believe it will happen, but there's always a possibility. I went on SUF yesterday and it doesn't get enough credit for going faster in it's second year. That ride was hauling!!!! BTR gets all the hype from you guys. Give SUF a little love. That's enough of that, continue with topic.

The net is made to catch items that riders drop, not people...
Oh, and as far as I know, the safety latches on SUF are not possible to be opened automatically anywhere but in the station. If they need to disembark passengers while the ride is in the course, I believe it has to be done manually, thus there should be no risk. Anyway, it's a B&M, not some stupid Intamin.
Maybe everyone else agrees with you, but the reason why I love rides is because it feels like I'm in a different world. For instance, when I'm riding BTR or any other great ride, do I really care about anything else? It's like an "out of body experience" (Hopefully, you know what I mean by that. I think that's the best way I can say it.) for me.
I guess you could say that rides make me speechless and excited at the same time. It's not because I'm afraid of heights, the wheel is going to come of the track, or the harness is going to bust open. That's just me though.

A lot of times when i'm riding coasters I look around and think "haha Vu miscaugh" "damn Cajun already's doing a block check" "If I skip Revy I can make it to Demon faster"
