Lines at G.A. Vs. other parks

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby Ron/Wolf on June 21st, 2004, 8:25 pm
If you visit Great America vs Six Flags Over Texas you will see an amazing difference on how each park handles problems. Let's see No smoking in line Universal No signs are nice but lets admit it they don't work here. Why, not enough employees to enforce the policy or they look the other way. In Texas they site a State Code on no smoking and tell you in advance break the rule go to jail. Never once has smoking been an issue in Texas. At the front gates of S.F.O.T they post the rules spelling it out that if you Line Jump say goodbye to that day and your season pass if you have one. Now at Great America again our handout talk about possible removal from (possible removal from the park) who hasn't been line jumped over and over at Great America. The lookes on peoples faces but again nobody and before you say me my crusade ended when they got boarding passes they work. It would be nice if they used them more often. We don't have it the worst Magic Mountain beats everybody. The lesson here is don't talk about policy enforce it.

You hate smokers in general or smokers that smoke in line?

You need to be more specific so I know whether to crack on you or not.

I smoke by the way.

That dose'nt bug me that you smoke. However, it would bug if you lit up in a queue line or anywhere int he park. Half of my family smokes, and it bothers me when they light up int he house at a party. We're there to have fun. Go smoke outside it dosent bug me. Dont smoke in a queue or in the park, and it wont bug me.

Smoking in line I despise.

What is this with you saying I shouldn't light up in the park? The park is outside.

The park allows smoking in the midways. Either you deal with it or complain and possibly change their policy.

I am a considerate smoker. I dont blow it in people's faces. However, if I am away from people and someone decides to come in my path of smoking and complains about it, they can get bent.

I did observe alot of smoking while in lines at the park on 6/20/04 which is irritating. But the worst was several people smoking in the batman que as you walked up the stairs, so it just hung in the air.
I dont smoke but i have no problems if people smoke in the parks just as long as they follow the park rules where you can and cant smoke.

Smoking is fine as long as the people who smoke are outside and not in a line, but some smokers can't obviously read the signs (This goes to the people that smoke in a line.) especially in the Batman line because of poor ventilation. I saw someone smoking in the Batman line the other day. They only put it out because a worker saw them smoking. Maybe, if it smelled better I would have a little more compassion. PUKE!

We should have stricter rules because than people wouldn't keep on doing the things they do. For line jumping at SFGAm, the people in line are too tolerant, (even me sometimes) they just let people walk by because they are meeting up with a group. So, really we are the ones to blame.

I wonder if NY also has stricter rules, I consider it to be a tough state like Texas.

I'm a smoker, but I have never lit up in line. It ticks me off when other people light up.

I will alwasy try to block them, I will let them through if I saw them with their party, and went out of line to get something or go to the bathroom, other than that, I try to block those going through, but I do not want to get into a fight

I am a smoker. And I too dislike it when people smoke in line. HOWEVER, there have been a few times that I have found myself doing it.
Like the last time I was there. I was waiting for the train, and there was no one else anywhere near me. So, I plopped on a bench and had a quick smoke. The only other time I did it, was also this season - the second I got off of V2, I lit up..lol. Again, no one was around - I let everyone pass me beforehand.
The thing that REALLY ticks me off is when someone is smoking in line, and people around them ask them (nicely) to put it out, and the smoker gets an attitude about the whole thing. I am like "Hello - YOU are breaking the rule. YOU are being rude. Stop acting like an ass to everyone else)..lol.
And don't get me started on line jumpers. I will simply refuse to let them pass.

It's not that big of a deal if your in the train station or an exit where it isn't that crowded. There is a big difference between a ride exit and a queue house with 500 people in it all around you.
