Anyone else try out the 6 flags credit card offer???

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

I was at the park on Sunday 06/20/04 and i saw the offer that when you apply for a 6 flags charge card they gave you a free 6 flags cloth bag.
So did anyone apply for one and get a free bag, or several????
Was this the first day they did this or has it bewen there awhile??
They were really trying to give these away as i saw/heard several people who couldnt fill out the application so the employee's asked questions and then filled them out.

A couple years back they gave away a free ride on Dare Devil Dive, so i proceeded to apply for the card, went home and when i got the card i simply shredded it.

Why would you shread the card? My parents have had one for years, if you charge 15,000 points worth of items onto the card you get a free 4-Pack Family Pass, for using a damn charge card. $1= 1 point on purchases outside Six Flags propertys. $1= 6 points on items purchased at Six Flags. An individual pass is like 5,000 or something like that.

You just use it like any other charge card, and you get rewards for it, its really a good thing you should try it out.

I only have one credit card and I set myself to a 4000 dollar spending limit. I always have cash on me, and why do i need a credit card, for emergencies, and I already have my creditcard for emergencies.

I would only add that it isnt a good idea to shread the card. If you dont want it after getting it send it back to the company cut up. If you dont cancel the card it will show up on credit reports which could affect your ability to get a loan as they look at the number of cards you have and what the limit is of how much you can charge.

As Mnel said, there isnt a penalty for not using a crdit card you get in the mail, until you activate it it doesnt show up on your record.

The card wasnt that attractive either, it was a light purplish with the six flags logo

option #2 (I already have a SF card, so I'd rather not apply for another one). But take note if they are checking ID's, they usually dont, if tehy arent put down a fake name address and social security number and all the other stuff and when you turn in the application they just give you the bag no questions asked.

Option #3-Go to your local Wal-Mart and purchase a white bag and felt markers. Proceed back to your home and print out a Six Flags logo. Sit and draw until completed.

Be advised that every time you fill out a credit car dapplication and the credit card company runs it thru a credit reference bureau to see what you credit worthiness is that is kept on file by these companies and is checked by banks etc. whem you try to get a loan.

Applying for a credit card is not even going to go on your credit report unless you activate and use it. Signing up for a credit card will never in any way affect your ability to get a loan if you dont activate it.
