Well, as my subject says, Not another problem for DeJaVu.
I was at SFGAm on Monday, May 31st and based on what I saw,
this makes me trust DeJaVu even less.
About 3 weeks ago, during a test run, as DJV was going back through the
station backwards, as it was going up the tower, it missed the hooking
mechanism and it flew down through the station, setting off the E-Brakes,
finally stoping partly up the cobra roll. Luckly, with no people on it.
Well, guess what happened on May 31st? The same exact thing, this
time with WITH PEOPLE! Now, how scary is that?
For all of you DJV lovers out there, would you still ride the DJV even
with problems like this? If yes, why would you still go on it?
Can't wait to see your responses!

I could care less if that mis-catching continues, I would still go on it. Only if the line is short (with no switchbacks open), I hated waiting in that long line.
I mean problems happen, whats the big deal. Its not like you're going to die or anything. I'm not going to fear a ride because it becomes stuck a few times. It is a prototype after all....
Did the Demon accident back in the early 90's make you scared to go on Demon? No! I love Deja Vu and its my #1 coaster there at the park. I've seen videos of it miscatch and it dosent bother me. Funny part is, I'd love to be on it when it miscatches. No need to like shun the ride now. Thigns happen to rides all the time and you cant stop it.
The problem with Demon in the 90's didn't scare me to go on it, cause it was a 1 time thing. The main difference from Demon and DJV is that, Demon doesn't breakdown as often as DJV does. Other than the problem in the 90's, I've never heard of Demon breaking down. On Monday, as I was standing in line for DJV, it constantly broke down. It would run 3 times then break down the whole time.
Honestly, I'm not a fan of DJV. I've actually yawned on that ride. I also
have to admit that there is a part of me that would love to get stuck on a
ride, but not on DJV. I was on SUF when it broke down on May 1st and it was the best thing in the world. Also it being my 30th time on it since it opened last year.
I just think that with DJV having that big of a problem now, that people are going to go on it less and less, and SFGAm will end up having to get rid of it. I was very nervous going on it, cause of the problem, plus it was running pretty slow. Oh well!

Well are you scared of:
- American Eagle Blue? (it breaks down alot)
- Iron Wolf? (Its been pretty unreliable lately)
- Whizzer? (When you see it sparking on the lift and it shuts down)
Those rides break down alot to. Do we go, "I dont wanna go on that ride, it breaks down alot." Being the coaster nerds (no offense to myself nor anyone else.) we are, I'd least expect this to be a concern.
And the lines arent getting smaller for DV they are getting BIGGER. All I hear people saying by the security gates are, "Man I hope DV is open today!" The line has been growing not getting smaller. I mean On a weekday (Jun 2nd) when I went thats like the first thing everybody went to! Its one of the most popular rides in the park for heaven sakes!
Like what was already said, all rides have breakdowns from time to time; it's just the nature of the industry. I realize that Deja Vu has had more than the average attraction, but many of them have been corrected and it seems that it is getting a little bit better with each season. Eventually I'm sure that they'll work out all of the bugs. As for as I've heard, there has never been a dangerous malfunction. I thought I heard of it stalling in the middle of the boomerang, and the passengers having to be lowered down onto the staircase, but I'm not sure where, when or if that actually happened. Anyway, valleying and miscatches, while maybe annoying to some, are not life threatening issues, so I will have no reservations about riding it. It's a great ride. But, like any prototype, there are going to be some problems. It's time we just get over it and enjoy it for the awesome ride that it is (when it's open. lol).
I'm gonna twist ya, and I'm gonna flip ya. Every time you squeal, I'm just gonna go faster and harder.
I to saw Deja Vu do that same thing weeks ago with people on it. I was stuck on the front tower later that day. Yes, I'll still go on it. As a friend of mine once said "this is not a ride it's a contraption. Problems will bring an early death to that ride, and they said The Hay Bayler and Sky Whirl where maintenence nightmares, not conpared to Deja Vu. You know that deck going into the cobra roll would be a great place for a barbeque, Ill bring the Ribs. Deja Vu OUT!!!!!!!!
EVERY COASTER BREAKS DOWN. All the Deja vus do this, its the price you have to pay to get the thrill you get. Its an unavoidable problem, its stupid to point out that one coaster miscatched when you dont talk about the numerous other breakdowns in the park everyday.
Why would you be "scared" to ride it. Even if for some far fetched reason, the breaks dont work, and you do vally, they have the patio set up already, so you can walk right off. GAH!
If I had to pick I would definitely perfer to be broke down on Deja Vu...saying that when you was broke down on SUF was one of the best times..hanging in that flying postion for a extended period of time doesn't sound too nice to me.
Haha and I remember that breakdown on Demon...I saw it on Real TV not too long ago...I saw the Sky Whirl and then I was like Hey..thats the demon....haha
How about Raging Bull, on that same Monday it seemed as the trim brakes were VERY sticky on the 3rd hill and the train was moving awefully slowly. Would you rather get miscatched on Deja Vu and have E-brakes stop you, or valley on Raging Bull where there are no brakes.
(Even though it probably won't happen.)

I look at DV like this, I see it as being quite reliable for something that complex. If you want to see something that is much worse in reliability, well your most likely using it, Windows. If Microsoft can get away with how "reliable" its OS's are lets give Vekoma a break... Wait.. DV's GUI runs Win 2k... Hmmm
No one gets injured in miscatches, there's nothing to be worried about.
I'd be a little more worried if my lapbar on Raging Bull wouldn't lock, when all the others did (FrightFest 2002, Only in the station. Put the ride down for like 20 minutes).
The only time it bothers me if a ride breaks down is if im like the next one on and they make you leave the line. That happened to me last year on V2. I was like the 3rd next person on and it just kept breaking down and they made us get out of line. But I have only gotten stuck on one ride and it was cool. It was Viper in 2002. I would like to get stuck on them all so you get another ride.

I think you forgot most of the downtime isn't even the rides fault.
So it miscatches on the first tower? Where is the harm? You fly through the station again and swing up the cobra roll a little, then come back into the station.
I guess TTD at Cedar Point can't be trusted and no-one should ride it. God forbid if you get a rollback at 420ft.
You stated later on in your own topic that you don't like DV and for other reasons besides breakdowns. One reason is that it's a yawner to you.
So with that said, you are just trying to find reasons to justify having the ride removed. Do us all a favor, and go ride the 12 other coasters and pretend DV doesn't exist.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.
I think the fact that it has break downs add to the scare factor. It is really the only coaster that I have a little bit of fear on which makes it more fun!
A miscatch is no problem. I often hear of people in line who are scared that the cable will break. Who cares? The train will still be on the track even if it does break. If you scared of a miscatch, skip it. If the ride was open sooner than it was a couple of years ago, we would have fewer bugs. The years Batman first opened, it had so many bugs on that lift.
