I just saw this posted in Six Flags User Portal. I hope they're going to still have something that can be accessed via PC/Laptop:

I have a weird question to ask. At the bottom of the opt staircase for X-Flight’s there’s some kind of oddly shaped red equipment under it. Does anybody know what it’s used for? It’s on both sides as for as I know.

Got a picture?

I'm pretty sure you're referring to the evacuation equipment for when they need to unload a train from the lift.

No picture but I found a pov where you can see it.
That was one of my guesses for what it’s used for.

It is indeed for evacuating a train on the lift. The catwalk harnesses are also in the station, in the rear of the right side.

With the holidays right around the corner, I always reminisce about HIP. But, it does not make sense for us. I stumbled across this great video essay on our Holiday in the Park and why it didn't work out.

I have heard similar things to what he said in this video about the financials. It was not a money maker. I am still glad they decorate the park to be seen from the surrounding areas. Eagle looks beautiful with the chaser lights and Christmas tree.

@SFGAm144 - GREAT JOB with that video on Holiday In The Park! I loved that event! In 2019 I got 26 rides in 3 hours, 45 minutes! In 2021 I rode Dark Knight 20x straight!

But I understand why it was discontinued.

Drove by the park this weekend and saw Wrath's lift lights are currently in festive colors, as well

The park has posted their operating schedule through Labor Day!

Opening Day is 4/25 but most importantly. For the first time in 1 don’t know how long, the park returns to 10pm closes ALL SUMMER!!!

June 19-August 9 is 10pm closes.

Last year they did it for a few weeks as part of Great Summer Nights (and usually for 4th of July Fest) but this is the first time in years we get this long of 10pm closes.

Ha. I was right. They're using that old gap between the photo building and the queue for Fast Lane.

Reduced Exit traffic yay!

Speaking of, how are you guys finding these permits? Seems like the Village site purposely makes this stuff hard to find.

It appears Max Force and Wrath have been removed from Fast Lane as it's no longer listed as a such on both the website and app.

I don't think they've been there since it was posted to the site. Makes me believe there's an yet to be announced Fast Lane Plus variant.

Not all parks have FL/FLP, so Great America will probably be one of them.

Anyone here attending No Coaster Con? Looking for some updates from the park. Marcus Leshock has posted the current state of Winner's Circle go Karts.

Good Riddance.

Big updates from coaster con

- Rakshasa lockers and on ride photos
- Scenic Railway and sky trek tower getting 50th themed audio
- 14 New track pieces for Whizzer
- New lift chain for roaring rapids
- Go Karts GONE!
- Toll plaza refurbishment with new parking lot signage and anniversary bricks
- Reflection pond refurbishment and upgrades (including sign at front similar to CGA)
- flags store getting remodeled
- 50th anniversary merch
- anniversary store and MUSEUM!

I honestly thought we were going to be left to dry from how SFGAd was treated but I'm pleasantly surprised, the new Museum has me so excited as it's something that's been suggested for years now

And Firehouse Snacks in Hometown is actually going to be something and will turn into an ice cream parlor which is a great idea.

The Emporium. It's that first store on the corner where Carousel Plaza and Orleans meet if I'm remembering correctly.

It's been closed and unused for years.
