JackGlass - what's a bigger plot: the Flumes total area or Rapids (including all those trees between it and Dark Knight)?
From the looks of it. The Flume area is slightly larger, but not by much.
There was a rumor on Screamscape about a year ago regarding Great Americas "5 year plan" It included a dive machine, a raptor and an Intamin giga on a strip of land along the perimeter of the park.
The dive machine did end up coming true. If the other two were to happen, this is how I think it might play out.
Raptor. Move triple play to Revolutions old spot, Demolish Johnny Rockets and reroute the parade route. They could fit a fairly large custom raptor, similar, but not identical to Jersey Devil in that plot of land running right along the train tracks. Rapids remain untouched
Giga. This is pretty much the only realistic plot of land to build a coaster of that size and it matches the description in the Screamscape rumor.
EDITED - Just to show how large that strip of land is I copied and pasted the American Eagle onto it.
There's no way that thing can go over the railroad, or that there's space enough to dig underneath it like Maxx Force
Raptor is a skinny model. Going over the train tracks wouldn't be an issue at all. Sure, It would have to be a custom layout for our park. But I used Wonder woman from Magic Mountain in this overlay just to show that it is more than doable.
This is certainly wishful thinking but I would really like an overhaul of Yukon territory to go with the kids area revamp, something like "Bug's Yukon Territory". You can make the entire land one big kids land so you can have them all in one spot and get rid of the eyesore of kidzopolis. But wouldn't it be cool if we got some boat ride similar to the former Yosemite Sam's gold river adventure at SFOT? I think Great America could really benefit from more darkride-ish rides in the future, and I think this would be a good place to start!
Some time, on way to successful, first of steps of all of the steps to being successful steps are hardest of all of the steps to successing.

Bro i really want a cool dark ride like how you described, the space is what's holding them back i think (and ig cohesion too)
Old Great America was better, however I hope just a bit of that charm comes back
JackGlass would you be able to see if the Yosemite Sam plot (Now known as pirates of spelunker cave) would fit anywhere in Yukon? The building doesn't look too massive and perhaps we can find workarounds, but it doesn't have to be an exact clone! Maybe its time to say goodbye to the wilderness theater? Is it still in use?

I don't know if they still use Wilderness Theater or not, but I'm surprised it's still around, and would love to see it gone. Feels like they have not used it but I don't know 100%

Probably for school stuff or something, i know CGA got rid of theirs in 2017 so it might be time for ours too

Wilderness Theater?
I'm surprised that you don't know. It's that giant theater behind Camp Cartoon that's never used. I only got my first peek at it when I traveled down Candy Cane Lane during Fright Fest, but even then, the entrance was stripped of any signage and the only remainder were two wooden poles.
I'd be down for a dark ride in that area, or anything really. I'm hoping that the park expands Camp Cartoon (hopefully Camp Snoopy) into the Picnic Grove, which would require the destruction of the theater. That would open up the area and possibly provide even more room for the dark ride if the park uses the Picnic Grove. The only way I could see this not happening is if the Picnic Grove makes a hefty profit, which I doubt.
If the park wants to continue using the area in front of it for Candy Cane Lane, then they should incorporate the Theater into the path. The stadium could provide a lot of queue space, room for a couple more character meet-and-greets, and good camera angles for parents.

If it is for school trips, then I'll find out this May since my high school has a trip planned.

Oh really? that's epic. I'm assuming Physics Day
