Maxx Force NEW FOR 2019

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

looking @magicweasel07 's photos I think this will only be a 2 train operation looking at where the catch car for the launch and the track length to the edge of station platform matches roughly the length of the station itself. if they had at least another 40 feet, I could see one car on the launch hook, one behind waiting to launch and the third in the station for unload/ load. i don't think they can have 3 trains running with this format.

Three train ops wouldn't make any sense on Maxx Force.

There are three situations for ride length vs. loading time:

Ride is longer than Loading time
If the ride is longer than the loading time, three train ops would be neccessary to ensure there is always a train in the station. Raging Bull is definitely an example of this. When RB is only running with two trains, there are significant periods of inactivity in the station, since a train has yet to return.
Ride is about the same duration than Loading time
In this situation, only two trains are required. One train will reenter the station as the next train is leaving. Batman and the Woodies are examples of these.
Ride is shorter than Loading time
All this means is that you'll stack for a lot of time. Goliath (and soon to be Maxx Force) are examples of this. When you return to the station, the train ahead will still be loading. Therefore, a third train would provide absolutely no benefit. All it would do is make you stack for longer.

Unless they added a duel loading station (this is Six Flags, they definitely won't), a third train would make no sense unless it is just used for emergencies when another train is broken.

^ I said this before, the park let me know Maxx won't have a loading/unloading station. I think 2 train operations.

So it looks like Six Flags took off the May 24th event for Max Force. I guess that tells us it’s not opening until June.

$1 says they blame it on the weather or bad winter even though it was a pretty mild winter, and a few days of rain doesn't affect a 9 month construction process

They were slow as a sloth to put up 30 pieces of a ride. Copperhead has more pieces and they got it up.

Well goliath last piece still wasn't put up yet either so they are slacking ever so slowly. Fright Fest Ready Maybe

Two totally different winters you're talking about. We've lost a lot of time on weather.

Goliath lost a lot of time on account for weather. They should have learned their lesson. MaxxForce vertical construction didn’t start until mid January. If I remember correctly, Goliath started in November (?), and it was still delayed until mid-June.

It would be nice if they actually started construction early enough to at least possibly open when the season pens or very shortly after. It's so strange to look back at huge coasters like Raging Bull and I believe Shockwave along with some other notable coasters like Batman, Superman, Viper and Iron Wolf among others that opened with the park in early May or even late April. Nowadays, they're far more likely to open in June if not close to 4th of July.

Edit- I did a little research and noticed that Shockwave did open in early June, June 3rd, 1988 to be exact if RCDB is correct. At this rate though, Maxx Force will still open later in the season than Shockwave.

You're assuming they actually care when it opens. I'm sure they know they could do it better/quicker, they just have no motivation to actually do it.

Will be interesting to see if they continue working Saturdays/Weekends since a Memorial Day opening is no longer achievable (why pay the overtime for six days a week). Does it now matter if it is mid June or July 4th weekend.
On a side note West Coaster Racers @ MM constructions is a lot further behind from a video I saw this week. They are still putting in footers, little construction activity happening and zero vertical construction with much better weather than the Midwest.

At a certain point you think Six Flags would push it back and advertise two new rides for 2020

So the 4th inversion is all that’s really left in terms of track work now?
