Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

So, for the Fast Lane thing, you get a card for 15.00 and they punch a hole in it every time you go on ride?? What rides Can't you use them on?

Basicly, and it is for 4 rides and can only be used on the rides that have fastlane that day which will usually be displayed on a sign before you enter the building where you buy your fastlane ticket.
This is where I would usually put stuff. Can't think of anything right now... =/

Yes. These are the rides you can use fastlane on:

Raging Bull
Batman
V2
Iron Wolf
Giant Drop
Roaring Rapids

There might be a few others, but I can't think of them now. Those are the ones I usually use fastlane on.

the majority of the flat rides don't use fastlane. anything that you'd think of as a major attraction will probably use fastlane.

It would make sense to, its one of the most crowded rides in the park, and they already built a Fastlane path. Hopefully this year.

They most likely will use Fastpass on Superman this year. They just didn't do it last year becuase it was new, and they wanted everyone to wait their turn to ride it.

I wonder if Vu will ever get it? I doubt it just becuase it's a pain to deal with already, and I don't think they built anything extra for the queue.

A wise tip: If you visit GAm often and you have a season pass, it's not worth your while to purchase a $15 pass to use on 4 rides. However with passes this year, you can get "discounts" according to the press releases.

My mom says she got an e-mail that said now you can buy two and get one free. They didn't say what the price of the passes were though... hopefully they didn't go up.

Call me old school or call me an idiot, but I hate the FL! GA wants to have a family atmosphere, so why are they teaching kids, yet again, that money equals priviledge? If you have a few extra bucks you don't have to wait in line like the rest of the fools. I'm sorry, but waiting in line is part of the deal when going to a place like GA. You should know it, and you should deal with it. I know that I am free to buy them like anyone else, but I never will. I will wait my turn, because that's the way that it should be.

I don't think GAm is teaching kids anything with Fast Lane. its simply a way to bring in a bit more revenue. its not fair to everyone in the park and it should be replaced with a better system, but its nothing to take a moral stance over.

Sorry about fastlane but how long does it really increase your wait? Maybe 1-2 trains at the most?

Here is an interisting editorial that was posted over at GADv.com
Editorial
There was even a lawsuit filed against Six Flags demanding reconciliation for damages caused by waiting in line while people in the fastlane passed them in line.
Lawsuit

And why should Six Flags have to teach kids anything? Most enthusiasts go enough times to ride everything and most families either buy or don't mind the fastlane system.[/url]

I guess maybe I should clarify a few things.

1. As for the comment about "welcome to reality" -- I'm smart enough to realize that money makes the world go around, but does that make it right? Should we just embrace it because that's the way everything else is? I don't think so.

2. I don't care about FL making my wait longer, because, as was said, it only makes it one or two rides longer. I just don't like the concept. I think that everyone should wait their turn. The fact that spending more money gets you there faster just doesn't sit well with me, even though I could easily buy the passes myself.

3. I never said that it's GA's JOB to teach anyone anything, and that's not what I was trying to imply. But doesn't anyone else think that the fact that money gets you to the front of the line quicker inevitably does further promote the message that the rest of society already teaches us, which is money gets you what you want? Again, I'm not saying that GA has a responsibility to teach anyone anything. That's what parents are supposed to do.

I don't expect everyone to agree with me, as I see the FL people in line each and every time I go, so I know that some people like it, and that's their perogative. I, however, don't like it, and I don't think that it's right. But that's just my perogative, and I'm entitled to that.
I'm gonna twist ya, and I'm gonna flip ya. Every time you squeal, I'm just gonna go faster and harder.

Your thinking way to much....if you dont want it dont get it, it's a good simple system that I like better than at a lot of other parks (even though I dont get FL) and it works fine.

Yea, take for example SFStL, I didn't use the system they have but it looked confusing to say the least. It said something about you buying a ride time, and being able to ride the ride then. So if you think our way pisses you off, just think about waiting 1hr/1hr 15 minutes, then having to wait about 3 or 4 trains when you should be on the first train, because people used that system. I like our FL, works good in my opinion

That sounds like CP handicap pass system. except you dont buy the times, they give you a time and (you can't use the pass for any other ride until you have ridden the ride you got a time for) comeback and wait a few trains and then ride it.

I think Six Flags should invest in systems identical to Disney's. You put in your ticket for the day (or season pass) and it spits back your ticket and also prints out a boarding pass for a particular time. You come back at the time printed on the pass and board at the designated entrance. Why this works well:

1. You get a time telling you when to come back. The times are set so that not too many people come at once, and the regular queue keeps moving.

2. It's free, so there's nothing to complain about.

3. They could experiment with different scenarios. I believe that at Disney, the entire system is connected and you can't get another ticket until the one you have expires, and you can only get a fast pass for each ride once per day.

I know Six Flags wants the revenue, but they need to make a concious effort towards increased customer satisfaction. Taking away the pass processing days was not good in this case. If they implemented this system, it would help improve customer satisfaction, especially for the regular attendees of the park (season pass holders) who have to put up with the management more than 1 or 2 days a year.
