New Ride(s) for 2017

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

I agree with this. I think a 4D looks interesting and kinda fun, but I believe it would be a capacity nightmare for our park. It seems like we have enough of those already. Hopefully in the next couple years we can get another large people eating coaster like Bull. Probably doubtful, but one can always hope.

I wouldn't necessarily say incompetent with lines. I feel ride ops has been better this season in a long time and honestly didn't notice much of a difference b/w G-Am and Cedar Point but the following exceptions:

-No storage space on ride. No place for your bags or drinks or anything (Gatekeeper and Raptor have spots for sandals but that's about it). This reduces people running across the platform putting their shizz away and allows quicker loading.
-Longer coasters with midcourse brake runs allowing for true 3 train operations.

I was listening to this podcast, and the guy said he wanted to see a gurslauer infinity to the park. It would be where RC was and where one of the log flumes is, and it would go over the water. They didn't talk about this, but I thought 8 inversions (most inversions on a coaster in the USA) and could be called gator bait (credit goes to the person who came up with that name, u da real MVP)

He did say 2019 however, 2017 would be a superloop and 2018 would be a watercoaster

Replacing a gentle 'Everyone' ride with a Thrill ride isn't a good idea in the long run. Even then, they are 2 completely different ride systems and manufacturers. I do know that Orbit's spot can have a Sky Screamer. However, I think Condor would be a better 'replacee'

I understand your viewpoint, but nobody rides that SKy Trek Tower! It was a walk-on on 8/15 when the rest of the park was massively crowded. I think Condor should stay as is, since it's a family friendly and fun ride.
But I've definitely seen the light about the 2 flumes. Those can go ASAP to make space for something amazing!
Maybe a B&M dive coaster?? I can dream!

If don't know where you rode STT, but I waited a good 20 minutes to ride it on the 15th. It also has a fairly large capacity.

So the whole "top secret" announcement may be the only thing we get from the parks social media. Meaning, there will be no teasers, just the Sept. 1st announcement. Doesn't seem anyone is really into it this year.

Yeah this only makes me believe the Free Spin rumors even more. It's safe to say that 2017 is going to be a slightly disappointing year as far as new attractions. So are any parks going to tease(besides SFFT).

Folks, WolfRaging95 has good sources. They have been right about Orbit, Jesters wild bench, and ERC.

I really don't see the upset with a 4D. It's a 4D! That, whether you like to believe it or not is a big deal for our park. Everytime we get a new attraction, Hank tells the media how well rounded we are & this will just add to that truth. They're fun coasters for any park with limited room & sadly that's us. With a park like SFGAdv, it didn't make sense to me why they wouldn't go with an X2/Eejanaika model cause they have the room to do that. Yes, we're a big park & if we get the 4D free fly, I feel like we will be seeing the larger 10inversion model. If not, yes it's a clone but I'm gonna be thrilled to try it out & have it as part of our collection.

Gah. I can't stand when so many people believe a rumor someone heard just because they've had reliable sources in the past. Believe me, I love watching JiggidyNDG/SFGAm Evaluation Squad's Videos, but just because a ride-op told them about Orbit's closure doesn't mean they're right about a new coaster next year.

This reminds me of how when Coaster Studios predicted that Boomerang at Six Flags St. Louis is being relocated to Six Flags America and how so many enthusiasts started spreading that rumor all over social media/putting it in their Six Flags predictions just because some big-wig said it.

I agree - yes, the ride closing rumors were correct, but they only happened a day or two early, and it makes sense that people would know rides were closing because I assume they have schedules in advance and people would be told where they were working. But it makes much less sense that anybody but the highest level people (or PR people I guess) would have been told about the new ride. Possible, sure, but I'm not convinced.

Nobody is saying to believe or not believe.....it's a RUMOR. Take it with a grain of salt. We'll all find out September 1st. We're all just guessing and wishing for stuff in the mean time anyway. If it's wrong so be it. Not going to kill anyone. Relax :)

^^ Exactly. I don't think any ride-ops would know. (Unless they're also part of PR, of course.)

I don't know what to ever believe until it's leaked or official. I get so wrapped up in this & that, that I don't know what's what anymore. lol I'm not saying this crazy rumor is true (there's literally no way S&S could be producing 4-5 of them for Six Flags along with Nagashima Spa Lands in one season) but if it were to be true for us, I don't get the hate as I mentioned.

I really hope this ends up being like the year Superman UF was announced for SFDK. No one saw that coming, it was such a surprise.

I'm upset for one reason. When I rode Joker at SFGAdv, my head snapped back right after the first flip and it hurt really bad. Like I've had concussions before and that's what it felt like.
I feel like I could brace myself for it but still, it hurt

The park might *want* you to think there isn't enough room for... say an RMC topper track hybrid coaster (Goliath) to have a full length track, but they are trying to distract you from the real reason. They don't want to say "well, we don't want to spend the extra money on a FULL roller coaster, so here's a sort of test track ride," which might make business sense, considering the clientele. They know people will go with whatever they say. So they tell everyone "we did what we could with the space." It's bullsh*t.

Google Grona Lund, Liseberg, Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Indiana Beach, etc.

I was riding Logger's Run the other night and was thinking just how much room they have in and around those 2 flumes to build a couple coasters and several flat rides.

Remember, it's not a space issue. It's a money issue. Accept the truth, yes, but let's keep it real here.

All the park's problems are money issues, basically. If they would spend more on employees it would greatly help food and ride lines, which I think would greatly improve guest satisfaction, but they're not going to get enough extra people to pay for that so they aren't going to do it .

Now wait, I was saying in comparison to SFGAdv for example. They literally have huge amounts of land surrounding their park that we simply do not have, that's the truth. Six flags America has the most. It's insane. I have said it several times on this sites IF our park wanted to make a massive ride work, they can do it. I have brought up parks like SFOG with Goliath, Gröna Lund & Indiana beach. I understand that. But again, it would take them to be very creative with utilizing space over current attractions & do they want to do thAT? Prob not

There are only so many ways one can get excited about an S&S Free Fly, even if they're being paid for it.

Damn it. I know it sounds stupid, but CGA is/was high on my list of parks to visit because I love B&M Stand Ups, and I felt like Vortex was either going to get Mantis'd or outright removed soon.

Ikr! It was the main reason I wanted to go besides visiting the other Great America in general. It still is I guess, Ngl, Patriot's color scheme looks pretty cool.
