I can see it now, DKC removed for a enclosed floorless coaster in 2024. A little of topic but wiki did this for SFGADV as well and one of the rumored futured coasters was called Mile High Club that was going to be an Intamin launch with a height of 5,280ft and its opening year is 2021. You won't be able to find it now as it was deleted a while back ago.
Its weird were seeing enterprises at other parks going as well. For this year, SFGAm, falleyfair and Kentucky kingdom are all getting rid of their enterprises. Maybe they'll be extinct in the next few years
Orbit is closing because Great America is moving ERC to Orbit's spot. ERC is moving to make room for a new ride in 2017 utilizing Cajun, ERC and Jester's spot.
Not to mention, Orbit is a 40 year old ride that is likely causing a lot of maintenance issues, so it becomes expendable.
In order to add new stuff, old stuff has to go. It's as simple as that.
The stand up is not happening. The "Green Lantern" was Chang several years ago. It was suppose to come here, but then Great America decide to add the water park expansion instead. There is no room to add a B&M stand up unless they clear a lot more room

I asked him on twitter if he was just reporting the rumor or if he confirmed it with the park, and he says he confirmed it.
And then I asked if he knew about Jester's, and he says: "The rest of the stuff is still rumored for now, all I know for sure is that Orbit is going bye bye. But it is fun to guess!"

I agree with who wrote about "Pretzelman" being a one trick pony - to some extent: it does also have that inline twist near the end. And it packs a whole lot of G's at the bottom of that pretzel! Probably the most intense force you'll feel at the park.
I have always thought Superman needed 1-2 more elements, like Manta in Sea World - Orlando. I suspect since it was the first flying ride they made it conservative.
I, too, wish they'd remove those trim brakes on Raging Bull, especially the ones on top of first camelback hill. I dont' think those were always there, were they?
As for Orbit closing, we have to put it in perspective: It's a 40 year old flat ride. It's time has come. But I hope they never tear down Whizzer. For me, THAT ride has memories, nostalgia, etc. And, I agree with the comment that Orbit is almost like a carnival ride. But then again, so is a superloop! I rode the Brain Drain at Frontier City in OK and it reminded me of a total carney ride that I've been on.
I'm really hoping that we one day get a super awesome B & M dive coaster, better than Sheikra.
As for rumors, I've heard that they're gonna take out V2 due to persistent maintnenance issues and a new Premier Launch (ala Mr. Freeze) is gonna replace it. (JUST KIDDING - I just made this one up!!! But if it happened, I would be totally fine with it)
As for nostalgia, does anyone miss Tidal Wave?? That ride was awesome.

I guess when I think about it, many folks (particularly on here) feel as nostalgic about Orbit as I do about Whizzer (and those 2 flume rides). I used to feel somewhat nostalgic about Eagle as well, because I remember driving by it on I94 with my parents when they were building it. But then I realized that something NEW and amazing could replace it!
Hopefully whatever they're doing for 2017 is awesome.....
Did anyone ever ride those cable cars that the park used to have?? I don't even remember them being there but saw a photo on www.rcdb.com of Tidal Wave and they were in the background.

The topic of the space that will be opened up with ERC and Jester's leaving their current areas has sparked a lot of curiosity in my mind recently about the potential of that space. With that being said, keep in mind the standard footprint of the 4D Free Spin is 259'x28'. By eliminating the Batman overflow queue and SF Outfitters gift shop, there would be plenty of space to install the Free Spin. The queue for the ride would be completely up to the park, so they could configure the queue in a fashion that would have very little effect on the current midways.
On a sidenote, if the park decided to put the entrance for a Free Spin in Mardi Gras, they could totally reuse the name "Jester's Wild Ride".
Consecutive Trips Riding X Flight: 92 SFGAm Lifetime Trips: 104
Even though I'm bummed about Orbit, I do understand the need to replace the rides that have been around and bring in new. And from my point of view, I'm glad they're keeping ERC over orbit. My daughter will actually ride ERC and loves it!
I'm quite curious to see what they're going to do with the space they are opening up on that side of the park.

Dating myself here, but yes, I have ridden the old skyway ride! Nice view of the park and a relaxing ride. The current Funnel Cake Foundry building was one of the stations. The other one was where Condor now stands.
