Single Rider Lines

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

I haven't been to the park since the single rider lines went into SUF, BTR and Goliath - how are they operating? Part of me wants to go to the park tomorrow, but only if I'm able to get on a few rides during what is typically the busiest weekend of the summer...

Batman, Superman, and now Raging Bull you go directly to the Flash Pass entrance. I'd say a maximum of 15 minute wait. I haven't used them, but from what I've heard, you get on pretty quick, I'm just not sure how effective they are at the intended goal of filling seats.

Goliath, you must wait through the overflow queue and then tell the Goliath Team Member at the entrance you are a single rider. You will then go up the Flash Pass entrance from that point. For tomorrow, that is probably going to be an hour wait.

You don't get any preference about where you sit. It's only to fill the train.

How new are those lines? How are the singles kept separate from the rest?

^ They aren't kept separate. As DV2001 said single riders go into the flash pass entrance. There is then a grouper in the station who should put the single riders in where there's space.

Um… so my 3 friends and I show up at the Flash Pass entrance as "single riders", then in the station we magically become a group of four. Yay we just cut over half the line.

Also, how long have these single rider lines been in effect?

^ If you come into the single rider line as a group and obviously together, chances are they won't let you use it. But I should've clarified earlier than single riders are given lanyards to show that they're alone. I just meant that there isn't a physical separate line.

Well if there are empty seats WITH a single rider line, you might as well remove the single rider line.

That explains quite a lot. Thanks.

When did these new line policies go into effect? I'm wondering if it was within the month or if it's been there all year or something.

When I was there yesterday. there was no signage for the single rider line for Goliath. One guard at the entrance told me about it, and I still had to wait in the temp overflow line before going to the station. I think most of us knew that last part though. I've used it with friends before, and they had no problem letting all of us use it. We all knew we would get split up and probably wouldn't ride on the same trains. I'm glad they are putting these in since I usually am a single rider when I'm there, and if I am with a group, no one cares if we ride together or not. Why not cut about an hour or 2 from the wait time.

Does Bull have a single rider line? I was just there on Thursday and saw nothing about it.

I did, however, use Batman's and Goliath's. I got the second row on Goliath... holy crap what an experience.

Just to re-share my frustrations (and warn everyone else):

Don't bother with the Goliath sorta-single-rider-line after 6 p.m., as they begin to shut down the permanent sections of the queue around that time, effectively freezing the temporary overflow section...which is where a single rider will be standing...not moving...for quite some time. They even announce over the speakers that guests can expect to stand in the same spot for an extended period. It makes zero sense to me — I can only figure that they want to make the line seem longer so that less people will get in the queue. It's so bizarre, and with no single riders in the station, trains leave with empty seats.

If this is what they're going to do...fine. But at least don't lead single riders on if they're not going to be able to serve the purpose of filling empty seats.

Visited 8/16/14 (Happy National Roller Coaster Day)

Raging Bull had a single rider line open
Goliath had a single rider line open.
Batman did not have a single rider line and the sign was nowhere in site
Superman did not have a single rider line, but the sign for it was off to the side up against a wall.

Damn, now I can't get over a dozen rides on it in one day, any more.

Also, I've ridden Goliath 23 times in one day. HBU? :P

I was at the park yesterday, and while there was no sign for single riders for Batman, it was available. My son went up the flash pass side, and asked if there was still a single rider line. The girl opened up the small box and handed him a lanyard.

I was at the park Sunday and Goliath had it's single rider line open. I didn't know about it until the late afternoon, but we used it at night. It worked out well. My wife and I were the only ones in it, so we both got on the same train after about 4 full ones left the station.

There is a sign explaining everything right behind the Goliath entrance when you walk through the pillars. The problem is there are people always waiting in line right in front of it, so it's hard to see the sign.

I talked to a senior security person in line and he said there has been talk about redoing the line in the offseason to accomodate the crowds, for what it is worth. I saw a spot inside the footprint of Goliath when I was on the train, that could hold a substantial number of people.

Raging Bull, Goliath, and Superman all have the single rider line. Batman stopped it for some reason. If it's for low ridership, then that was a bad choice, because everyone today was partying like it's 1993:

Yes, that's the Batman line, which filled up all parts of the queue, including the excess queue.

Might just be a space reason for Batman. It's crowded enough with the grouper, line for the front and line for the rest of the train. Not really a ton of room for a bunch of single riders to stand around waiting. Can't have them in the exit either as that's always crowded too.

I don't believe it's been constructed yet, so no. I do hope it is executed well though, and not use the awful lanyard system Goliath had it's first two seasons

I've used it multiple times this year but was told there was no single rider line on my most recent visit. Either an employee that didn't know or maybe it wasn't offered since crowds were light. (Though the ride still had a 40-50 minute wait in the regular queue)
