I couldn`t agree more. I`ve been on Goliath five times now, and it gets better every time I ride it. It started out as amazing and has gone to HOLY F@%$#NG SH%$ this ride is otherworldly good!!!!! I think it`s because no two elements are the same, but are perfectly placed and perfectly executed.

Does anybody know if the overflow que for Goliath is still there? If it is, it will probably be there the rest of the summer.

I asked the person collecting the line pass that question and she said the extra queue line will remain up, but eventually will be taken down.

They should just add a permanent que line over there but not quite as big.

What's wrong with having a temporary one? I kinda think it should be a little smaller and allow train access, but besides that it seems to work fine, and having a temporary one means that if lines ever do get a lot shorter (which doesn't seem likely any time soon, but you never know) they can remove it easily instead of just taking a bunch of space for no reason.

I agree, but I was told that because of the train station a new queue line won't be built where the extra queue line is.

They said they might just use the IW queue line eventually, which is a terrible idea if you ask me.

Why is that a terrible idea? They won't do that until the lines are shorter, I'm sure they have no desire to have a random line snaking all over.

Also, just for the record, I'm sure the employee you were talking to had no actual information on this, she was just saying things that are pretty much common sense. Basically, "it's up for now, but some day they might take it down". Is there anybody here who wouldn't have thought that anyway?

I understand what your saying. If the line isn't too long then just using the IW queue line is alright. Your probably right about what you said about that employee because another employee said a new line might be built, but it wouldn't block the train station completely.

I haven't gotten out a tape measure, but IW permanent queue seems to be much shorter than other coasters in the park. That said, they can probably get away with using temp queues this season and by next season the crowds for the ride should come down to where the permanent queue will always be full, but won't overflow into the midway.

I'm curious to see when they re-open scenic railway. I'm sure the county fair station will stay closed for the season as additional Goliath queue, but they could still run the railway out of hometown square.

When it comes to just a regular operating day next season, I can see the park getting away with just using the permanent queue. However, for events such as opening weekend, fourth fest, and fright fest, an pre-installed, chain separated overflow queue system could be set up [if that makes any sense whatsoever].

They could've extended the queue by not putting the stupid Coke stand there. Not like there's a snack stand right across the midway or anything.

I haven't been to the park in a couple years, but I don't understand why they can't have the temp queue line and have the train open at the same time. Do they really need to have the temporary Goliath line actually go through the train station? Just have the temp queue in front and left of the station. Create a small path to have people get to the train on the right.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.

I rode goliath for the first time yesturday and wow is the only way to describe it. The feeling on that drop is unlike any other I've been on and to make the whole experience better it was at night! Kudos to six flags for making such an outstanding coaster in the limited space they had

I've been busy and was on vacation and have only been to the park once since it opened.
How has Goliath been doing downtime wise? Do we think it is just opening coaster issues, or can we expect downtimes more often than the average coaster in the future?
It might be too early to tell, as Im sure things will get better the longer it's open. Im just thinking this could be an interesting discussion to have.

It really depends on the crew and if both trains are running yesturday throughout the day it kept breaking down and only had the orange train running and was one train going about every 4 minutes then once hey put the red one back on things picked up a bit but were still slow. Then at night when I decided to hop in line it moved fairly fast because that crew knew what they were doing and how to efficently do it

They should have put it inside the queue like El Toro at SFGAd, or just have it facing the queue, or the best ever, duel stationed Coke Stand. :P

Also, I've ridden Goliath 23 times in one day. HBU? :P

Yesterday, the lines reached 120 minutes (2 hours) around lunch time and only went down to 90 minutes towards the end of the night. However, I did ERT on Goliath yesterday, waited in the line for 15 minutes and waited another 30 minutes for them to fix it after it had its first breakdown of the day. They had to climb the lift hill all the way to find and fix the problem.

I will tell you this, Goliath is one hell of a coaster!!! It is very steep and fast!!!
I loved it!!! Kudos to RMC for building such a GREAT coaster!!!! ;)

Front row on this ride at night is awesome!! Couldn't see the dive loop until you hit it and it was amazing. Loved front and back row on this ride.

I'm going to give you guys a breakdown of goliath in my ERT today. So got to the park and hopped in line at about 945. (Side note: some lady was saying we could go to the front of the line and everyone said no until these teens told the lady to "shut the f**k up"). Anyway. Probably 5 minutes until we got to recieve our boarding passes. I was first to go through temp queue and start the line there. The perm queue was filled. Didn't have to wait in temp. Probably 35-45 minutes in queue and was off at 11. Not that bad really
