One day It will eventually run out of space, but luckily Great America still has tons of room to expand. It would require purchasing the lot of land across the street from Washington street, and moving the Employee parking lot and maitinence buildings over there. But if they did away with the Employee Parking lot and Storage/Maintainance buildings in their current locations you could almost double the size of the park. That plot of land across the street from Washington could not only house the employee parking lot and buildings but also have enough room for Hotels, etc if the Park ever wanted it. It would mean Re-Jigging Washington street a little bit, and we all remember last time what happened when they tried doing the Entertainment Village Expansion, lol. In a way, I'm glad that didn't happen, because they were going to Build Hurricane Harbor and the Village on the other side of the High way. I'm glad Hurricane Harbor ended up in it's current location attached to the dry park.
Why would they go on the other side of the road with a theme park? I mean I could see them buying the whole road and moving the parking lot up by Milwaukee ave. but that would be extremely costly to move an entire parking lot. The only upside is that the current parking lots would be used as more land and not have the way back lots be as awful as they already are
Also, they could try buy out the homes off of grand ave. that would also be a good plot of land.
As for my 10 year predictions:
1. Demon is gone by 2017 2. STT's recent fire may end up causing major damage and leading to its removal. If that happens then I'd think they'd replace it with a 310 ft. Skyscreamer 3. Viper gets removed and replaced by a launch coaster 4. Raging bull starts heading downhill and starts breaking down allot. We then ship off to our coaster graveyard aka SFA 5. Waukegan airport is closed due to lack of traffic removing our need for a height variance and then we install a 500 ft launched tower like kinda ka
These are just my hopes/possibilities. Only 1. 2. And 3. Are realistic possibilities
I can't see Viper going anywhere. There are other coasters that can come down before Viper. I also can't see Raging Bull having that many problems. It is one of the main attractions of our park and has been sense it opened. I am pretty sure it will stay for a long time.

If there were ever an extreme mechanical problem with STT, I can see it being replaced by a Skyscreamer, but that probably won't happen so STT is staying
Rocky Mountain buying American Eagle and rebuilding it into a more intensified version of the ride, with new trains. The old ones then get shipped to one of the Chicago museums for display.
Dark Knight moves someplace else, then gets re-themed to something else. (ex: Iron Man)
Giant Drop moves someplace else and makes way for a 500 ft. drop tower.
Whizzer moves to Silverwood, Idaho.
Superman moves to Buccaneer Battle's spot. A new and improved Shock Wave returns to its previous home, returning the Orleans theme.
Go Karts gone indefinitely. Looney Tunes National Park returns to its previous spot.
Kidzopolis gone or gets rethemed to Looney Tunes.
Raging Bull backwards.
A Barn Swinger moves into Trail Blazer's spot.
A flat goes into Ragin' Cajun's spot.
R.I.P. Splashwater Falls and Space Shuttle America. Deja Vu, enjoy Idaho.

You hit that right on the head! Al of those things are going to happen. Honestly no, the only one that I could see happening is the last one. So no, none of that is going to happen.
Ok I'll play noob whats a barn swinger I am not getting anything on google or any site or if I have I overlooked something if you can please post a pic thanx.

There is no such ride as a barn swinger I am pretty sure he means an S&S Screamin' Swing such as Skyhawk located at Cedar Point.
LOL, I didn't think so! Though it would've been nice to experience Raging Bull backwards. A 500 foot drop may be a little too intense for the Gurnee board.

No, we have a strict height restriction at Great America. All coasters above 125 feet must receive a zoning variance to be built, and furthermore, no ride may exceed 330 feet, or the height of Sky Trek Tower. That's as high as we can possibly go, due to our proximity to Waukegan airport. We could get a 330-foot drop tower if we want, and Gurnee would approve it, but any higher than that and it's a no-go whatsoever.

I almost wish the airport was relocated just for the sake of our park....please...think of the coasters...
0% chance of anything over 330. Something right at 330 wouldn't be a given to get the height variance. If we ever propose something at 330 ft the height variance meeting will be very interesting.

What? Thats makes absolutely no sense. Unless your implying that Demon gets removed and them replaced with a new coaster.

There's essentially zero chance of us getting another coaster in two years. Sure, phasing out the least popular rides for newer, more exciting coasters is phenomenal and it's great that the park is finally getting some much-needed and well-deserved attention, but three coasters in six years is a bit outrageous. (See: Geauga Lake.)

I like the idea of a launch coaster better but I suppose a Giga could work. Seriously though I don't see us getting another coaster for a while after Goliath.
RollerCoasterRyan wrote:I honestly think the park will close by 2018 SFGAm is NOT that popular of a park compared to other Six Flags parks. ThemeParkReview did not give SFGAm a good rating. A couple of years ago, SFGAm almost closed because it went bankrupt. I think that will happen again in the near feature and it will be ten times WORSE as last time. Also I think the locals that live around the park will soon vote to close the park. They are the most annoying people ever! All they do at the village board meetings is complain, complain and complain. They should no longer be allowed to attend feature meetings if they are going to complain. If they do they should NOT be allowed to voice their complaints! I'm sure Hank Salemi gets really aggravated by them as well at the meetings. I don't think SFGAm will be open for much longer.
You can't be serious.....Why do you think SFGAm will close soon!? It won't! SFGAm is actually more popular than you think! It has been doing well in the past few years with the addition of X Flight in 2012 and now it will get better because of Goliath in 2014. Please don't post things like this because what you said is very unlikely.
