Solid addition for the park. It's short, yes, we are tight on space but they managed well. I'm glad SFGAm is adding rides unique to the park that no other park has, and it's also building intense rides.
(Face it, our park isn't known for having the most THRILLING coasters, SFGADV SFMM CP, but X-Flight and Goliath are making our park stand out more and I like it!)

Unless it's been mentioned somewhere that I missed that it's leaving FOR SURE, all I've really seen is speculation (because SFA could be getting a new one, even if that seems unlikely).
I'm planning on trying to get an interview with Hank Salemi today. If I can I plan on asking about many different items, and that is one of them.
I don't think this is it for the park this year though.
Also, I like when SF doesn't paint wooden coasters. It allows them to save money on paint and use it on other exciting attractions!
I have 4 questions for him if you could ask for me:
1- Is something going on at Southwest Rockin Amphitheater 2- Is Ignite Returning? And If not, What is going on? 3- Is Orbit being removed or is just being rehabbed? 4- What's going to show in the Pictorium since you did all 3 Volumes of Screams and Dreams?

Ok I'll be sure to ask if he's able to take the time to answer these questions. I'm also asking about: -Screams and Dreams DVD -Construction Timeline -Cajun -Future Ride Suggestions

No. I don't even think it's a Huss ride. It's only 32 passengers according the article, and the Huss rides are 28 & 40.

This ride is going to be insane. The name is a letdown though. I wish we had a unique name to completely make our coaster stand out (more than it already does). Other than that, I'm psyched.
I am so excited for this coaster! The drop, inversions, tunnel, everything about it looks amazing! I don't care how "short" the ride time may be. It's going to Deliver! I am so happy to call SFGAm my home park and this addittion gives me a whole new love for the park! That and they are getting rid of Rajin Cajin
But I know very little about flat rides, FParker can probably give you more info than I ever could.
My guess is that it's the Zamperla Wind Shear, but the Zamperla page is taking forever to load. The new ride at Great Escape also looks like a Zamperla ride - Product Name: Midi Discovery
I'm thinking something like this video below because of the way they have King Chaos on that page, is that they have it tilted on it's side rather than the arms just going vertical like King Chaos does. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DRzP05mxa0w

If they do remove Cajun then I hope they put in a zacspin this year rather than have to waste one years announcement and be disappointed. Also zac spins aren't overly tall to begin with so they could make it 124 ft or smaller. I mean lets face it eventually every park will have one and I'd rather get one with a double announcement this year, rather than get the coaster and a skyscreamer this year and get a zac spin next year
Why would they waste the time to remove Cajun just to put in a Zac Spin...
Also, DEMON is nothing like King Chaos... Chaos just swings back and forth and spins. Demon is all sorts of Inverted.... and is The Kids Coaster by Iron Wolf Leaving?
Those are the 2 rides that seem to be going in at other parks, that we just happen to have
Goliath will be 3,100 feet long according to park president, Hank Salemi.

interesting. it's not that short compared to other coasters in the park's collection, but due to it's speed, it's gonna burn through that 3,100' pretty damn fast. And it's right in line with Outlaw Run's 2,937' of track. that's ok though, quick and intense is always preferable to boring and drawn out.
Once Goliath is finished, Six Flags Great America will have the most wooden coaster track in the world at 16,558 feet if you count Eagle as two coasters.

To answer who asked about Cajun....nothing was announced about Cajun. Orbit is getting a new motor. One thing is for certain...despite Goliath being named something that has 7 others named after it and it being short....I am super excited about this ride and can't wait to ride it.

I asked Katy Enrique, Cajun is gone at seasons end.

I don't think Spacely's is leaving. IW ran right by it, as will Goliath, I assume. I agree a Zacspin makes no sense for this park. Just trade one horribly capacity ride for another. Zacpsins are best at medium to small parks with light crowds. I was surprised SFMM put one in, but that was just to get the record for number of coasters.
So, I slept right through the time I was supposed to get up to go this morning. I was wondering for those of you who went, If it is recorded or what not somewhere?
When you get to the top, and you hear that click, you better hang on, because your coming down quick!

Hank said Camp Cartoon won't be changed by this addition.
