Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

Awe, y'all are making me blush over here.
I have facial hair now, don't be fooled.

Just 4 days left until the announcement. I know I'm getting excited! Can't wait to see the layout.

I know all signs point to a wooden coaster but I am still unsure. I mean a wooden coaster would be tremendously more expensive with all the lumber coasts, and hardware and motor oil alone. I am not saying it wont be wooden just from a financial stand point steel seems like the better option. especially if they are planning a reverse launch i think this would put too much stress on the wood. Who knows we may get 3 new things next year a ride show and coaster, or by some twist they may integrate evrything into one and call it Armageddon. Also if six flags knows their audience who is to say that that meeting was real and not staged. With skype and webcams they could have had a private meeting and just played this one out for us coaster fans, leading us down a fake candy trail only to blow us all away on Aug 29 with the real announcement.

You can NOT be serious  You really think the Village of Gurnee has nothing better to do than play games with coaster nerds? Plus that would be completely illegal.

I'm honestly not sure if you're joking or not, but if you were serious, no, this didn't happen. There is not the slightly possibility that the Village of Gurnee would go alone with a fake meeting just to fool some people on the internet. For one, there are state laws about village board meetings and who has to be informed about them and etc, they can't just do whatever they want. Secondly, even if they COULD do whatever they wanted, they'd risk upsetting a lot of residents by lying, and no politician is ever going to do that especially when they are going to gain nothing by it.

Oh, and about the cost thing? According to Wikipedia, X-Flight cost "$12-$15 million" (and Gatekeeper cost $25-$30 million). Outlaw Run cost $10 million. Yes, some steel coasters are cheaper (Full Throttle cost $6 million), but there's certainly no rule that wooden coasters are more expensive.

does the term mis-apropreation of funds ring a bell for that comment? They are not going to waste a cent for even turning a light on for such a fake meeting you speak of. You're high

I agree. Although they have the right to voice their complaints, it really isn't worth it. The park, which is one of the driving forces behind Gurnee's economy, wouldn't be successful with out new rides.
Sit upright, hold on tight and enjoy your ride!

How about this?
-New coaster in IW's spot
-New slide in HH OR new flat ride
-Update to igNight/ new shows in Pictorium or Grand Music Hall (hopefully not GMH because the shows were good this year)

That would fit perfectly into the ride show coaster thing in the video

Also, what about an uphill zip coaster in Hurricane Harbor as a future project? It would be very popular if they added one

Jeeze say one thing and everyone crawls up your ass. I was actually only half kiding I did think that a steel vs wooden was cheaper. But the rest I was kidding about. Other people make a joke or a kidding comment and its ok I do it and all hell breaks loose.

blush away Scotty

LOL to everything else, my lawd have mercy on us nerds.

When I first heard "David" say this in the video, I thought thatd be some crass BS if they teased coaster & it wasnt a coaster. haha Cause look at what all the GP says about coasters in their comments on FB. Theyd be more p!ssed than we would haha ;D I am agreeing with you JimPanky on this one with your original comment, It could be all three. In a perfect setting, a new slide/attraction to HH, a show & a coaster would certainly be perfection in tackling almost all angles of the park at once. Who knows who know who knows!!!

I figure a new show is kind of a give in because we always seem to get some new show or form of entertainment every year. But as for a new ride too, I could just see something small coming, like the Buzzy Bees coming back. I think Hank mentioned at NCC that we may see that come back? Maybe they'll do what they did for 2012 and have it be a place holder in Ragin Cajuns spot.

^ Because if we learned one thing from 2012, it was that Buzzy Beez totally needed a larger concrete pad

I think that for wikipedia, the guy that said that is really low-balling the X-Flight price with $12 million. Maybe, it's $15 million, but how can it be $12 milliion when Dollywood's is $20 million? Dollywood's is only 127 feet more than X-Flight. Superman was $15 million, and that has a little less track than X-Flight does. X-Flight is newer, & B&M coasters are going up in price, not down.

Yeah, it's wikipedia, you never know for sure what to believe, and I'm also sure different parks include different things in their amount (like, it could be one number just for the ride and a different number if you're including some big new themed area with it). The point was just that they aren't automatically cheaper than wooden rides, and that's true even at $12 million.

If Buzzy Bees makes a comeback, my guess is it'll probably replace a ride in Kidzopolis or possibly be put in Hometown Square

About the shows thing.... Usually there is a new show in the GMH. This year there were two shows in there. More than likely I'd expect another show in there next year, maybe another old show from years ago again, we will have to see.

^^ Everything in Kidzopolis seems to run well and is much newer than Buzzy Beez. That said, the way things are going, I wouldn't be too surprised to see it pop up in Orbit's spot

Why not just pick a bare spot and plop it down? Ex. that bare spot in Carousel Plaza
