I'm pretty sure me and one other person kept repeating that we are getting an RMC while everyone kept yapping about a 'world's largest loop' Full Throttle type ride.

Edit: Here's the article since it's the start of a new page. Talks about the world's fastest wooden coaster coming to the park.

I love how she said plans are confidential and then went on to say what it was.

If this is true though - I'm ecstatic. I really thought we were going to see something like YOLOcoaster, but I was hoping it'd be something like this. This could really be the chance to give Great America an amazing top 10 coaster since I can't see them working with anyone besides RMC or Intamin.

The article said "some parts" of the plan are confidential, so maybe this leak was approved. Hoping it is an RMC too! Getting this so soon after X-Flight is awesome if this info is true!

Seems like it is RMC. Comparing to other parks, SFGAm is really getting some awesome stuff recently. X Flight the only wing coaster in the chain, now a brand new from scratch RMC wooden coaster, that is very tall. Plus for the first time we will have 14 roller coasters in park's history- if I am not mistaking.

Seems like to me, SFGAm wants to compete with Cedar Point.

This leaves two possibilities. Either a launched wooden coaster (first and fastest in world) or an RMC or intamin epic custom coaster. If normal lift hill must be very steep to not take up much room... also must have record steep drop to get to world record speeds from only 165ft up. Obviously this is custom designed and was in the works for many years. Trying to figure out specs. Would only be fourth tallest woodie. Could have worlds largest drop on wooden coaster if you dig down 12 ft to beat el toro and could then have speed greater than 71 mph to be the fastest woodie. This means if the three records idea given is right, we may have a new fastest coaster in the park! 74 mph is doable. Ofcourse it could also have more than 4 inversions also having that record. I am super excited!!

Definitely going to take some work to be the fastest wooden coaster at only 165ft. The article said fastest wooden coaster ever so that would include SOB. I'll just assume the "ever" must be an error. Either way, can we just skip to Wednesday now? :D

Riddle me this: Watched some POVs tonight. Saw El Toro. Saw Outlaw Run. What would you rather have?

El Toro, of course, has the speed record and is supposedly as smooth as silk with its plug-and-play design, but is a little less creative with its elements. Outlaw Run has the barrel roll and has the overbanked turns that are, well, really overbanked.

Personally, I'd rather have something Outlaw Run-like. Remember, El Toro was kind of a cooperative effort between Intamin and RMC, whereas Outlaw Run was pretty much a RMC thing.

I'm sure a 165 foot woodie will take the speed record from the likes of ElToro, Colossos and other 180+ foot tall wood coasters. Article is pretty hilarious though if it was meant as a joke.

I would take either, but as RMC is the woodie company du jour, I would love to see what they could do in that space!

Why did the mayor have to go and spoil the surprise? I just hope she read the proposal more carefully than most politicians read most legislation.... :P

The ever must be a mistake, because later in the article it says

However, Kovarik said the proposal submitted to the village is for "the fastest wooden roller coaster."

"It doesn't say U.S. or the world," she added.

For all we know, this leak might have been planned to build the hype a little more, so that when all the details are finally revealed, it's total euphoria. I love this!

SO glad it's wooden!!!
Only thing that'd make this better would be if it was either named Timberwolf, or if it was Yeti themed, (even though it's not in the Yukon, IW was always better suited for Yukon Terr.)

But seriously, Timberwolf anyone?

Well yeah if it's any kind of speed record at 165 feet we can assume it's not just gravity aka a launch.
Or it could tunnel under ground for a drop that is much more than 165 feet.

I had hoped for an RMC more than anything but I figured with the space available, a Premier was more likely. I'm extremely happy about this! I wonder if they will remove the Wilderness Theater and possibly cut into part of Picnic Grove for this ride. What if they remove Camp Cartoon and build a new kids section (or relocate the rides) to where the Southwest Amphitheater is now and create a western themed kids area with maybe Yosemite Sam and stuff. Just a thought.

Correct me if i'm wrong but Worlds of Fun probably has that name trademarked and SFGAm (or any SF park) can't use it

This applies to basketball teams, too.

(Would be kind of a cool name, though.)

You know, that's actually pretty clever. Seems like a lot of effort, but I like the thinking.

Interestingly enough, Camp Cartoon is almost identical in size compared to the ampitheater. Still though, a decent amount of work to move. I'm also wondering when they plan on opening this coaster. Even with RMC topper track, wood coasters still aren't a fast build, and SFGAm hasn't even started site prep.

At 165 feet it would be tricky to be the world's fastest woodie, BUT at least from the little teasers Six Flags has given, it seems this ride could have some underground elements. If the drop goes underground another 10-20 feet, it seems a little more plausible. Fastest or not, if it's an RMC I'm super excited! I've been wanting to ride Outlaw Run since I've seen it and that holds true for the Rattler remake at Fiesta Texas.

If there are 3 possible record breakers for this ride, my guesses are...

1. World's fastest wooden coaster.
2. World's steepest drop on a wooden coaster.
3. Most inversions on a wooden coaster.
