New Ride(s) for 2014

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

^ All of the Six Flags park Facebook pages disabled recommendations and wall posts after the Texas Giant ejection. Coincidence? Only SF knows

If you watch the Zoning Board video from Chang, one of the first words that came out of Hank's mouth was POTENTIAL, which means that Chang was NEVER set in stone. That was simply one idea, and the other word was "LANDLOCKED," so we can stop all those discusses. Great America is landlocked.

In regards to the rumors, here is an idea. Perhaps Great America makes TWO announcements for this upcoming 2014 season. Perhaps they do announce about RMC treatment for one side of the Eagle, but seeing as that might take all of next season to complete, they also announce another new ride, which is the official new ride for 2014, and AE revamp poised for late 2014 or early 2015 but because of the amount of time that it takes, they will announce it now. Just a thought. We will find out more at the zoning board meeting!

Perhaps he was doing that for appearances so that he came across looking humble in front of the board. Don't want to just assume you'll get approval, right?

But your suggestion is certainly not unlikely.

EDIT: Nevermind, he continued to make repeated statements that they haven't made a final executorial decision. Forget what I said :\

I think saying that the park would combine two roller coasters made by different companies and merging them together counts as "inaccurate"

I continue to think that it makes very very little sense for them to do a conversion of ONE SIDE of the Eagle. Can anybody explain (from the park's perspective) what the point of that would possibly be? You'd have one side brand new and with long lines and the other side old with nobody caring. The two sides would be different enough that they couldn't even really push it as a racing coaster anymore. If they're going to spend the money to do one side, why wouldn't they just spend a little more (I can't imagine it would be THAT much more, since they'd already have all the people and infrastructure in place) and do it both and have the "World's First Iron Horse Racing Coaster"?

^I kind of think it's an interesting idea. Have the old vs the new right next to each other. Could be kind of an eye sore though and they would have to build two separate queues

It's an interesting idea to us fans of the park. But why would the general public care (if they even understood it)?

For me, anyway, it seems quite odd and fairly idiotic from a marketing and operational standpoint (to be frank) to convert one side of Eagle while leaving the other as is. The PTC and Gerstlauer trains are different weight, design, and capacity, so the racing element wouldn't be nearly as exciting as it is now.

I heard that they might tear down the Stunt Show Amphitheater in Southwest Territory to make way for a new attraction, which is absolutely fabulous considering that it's vacant, falling apart, and I don't really feel as though I'm in SWT until I've gotten past the restrooms.

^ I could see the amphitheater thing happening as (from my knowledge) there hasn't been a show there since operation spygirl. I know that last year for fright fest there was a "character candy trail" in there for the kids. But I don't know how well it did. (Let's just say I never saw ANYONE go in haha)

The "Character Candy Trail" was nothing, just a three or four characters standing at various spots handing out candy. I'm sure they could do it elsewhere in the park if they needed to (as they did in previous years). However, they do use the Amphitheater for concerts and some special events I think, that might be a bigger issue.

Don't they still use the Southwest Amphitheater for concerts, cheerleading competitions, and stuff? I haven't checked the concert schedules the last few years so I'm not even sure how many they do anymore.

I believe there's another amphitheater near loggers run if they needed a stage for whatever reason

^The Wilderness Theater is over there. It might need some cleaning up though.

The Wilderness Theater is quite small, and the stage is pretty pathetic. The Southwest Amphitheater is the only good stage the park has, and many of the events that do occur there could not occur anywhere else in the park.

But if they don't draw large crowds there (and I don't believe they do) then what's the point of keeping the shows?

The paint is peeling, the structure is beginning to crumble a bit, and it looks so sad next to the rest of SWT that you can't even tell it's there.

I'd agree that Southwest amphitheater is on it's last legs.....At the same time I don't think that wilderness theater isn't much of a replacement.

Honestly, I don't think this person is a troll at all. This is what he posted that started this whole thing. People started picking on him for him voicing his suggestion. Yes, a lot of us think that Southwest Territory is sacred, and if you say anything about changing Southwest Territory, than it's a mortal sin.

I would love Yankee Harbor, and Mardi Gras to be all Justice League themed. Will it happen? Highly unlikely. I really, really think the whole reason why this person even thought this at first is because of the whole Doomsday thing that was suggested on youtube going on Giant Drop - making it a half coaster / half drop ride. So, if they started with one villain on a ride, than go for the whole area becoming villain themed.

It's this person's opinion. Can we stop bashing people for their ideas / opinions? He wouldn't have posted all this other stuff if people weren't dogging him.

I wished we could see more Looney Tunes- because there is not a single ride or zone themed to them anymore. And Looney Tunes are the mascots of the park. Will it ever happen? Will they come back?

Six Flags is not what it used to be...
Six Flags Ameirca as the number 1 park at SFI.... this is JOKE!

I have two kids, and based on them and their friends, kids just don't care about Looney Tunes at all anymore. It doesn't surprise me that the park doesn't push them that hard, because they aren't going to get people to come.

^I think that Cartoon Network is helping them gain more traction. Also, now the park is back to playing old Looney Tunes cartoons. For ratings, it's at the middle of the pack for Cartoon Network - for the new-er show.

Cartoon Network
2.324 - Regular Show (0.635 adults 18-49, 0.5 rating)
1.666 - Dragons: Riders of Berk (0.478 adults 18-49, 0.4 rating)
1.627 - Mad (0.412 adults 18-49, 0.3 rating)
1.556 - The Looney Tunes Show (0.403 adults 18-49, 0.3 rating)
1.523 - Incredible Crew (0.300 adults 18-49, 0.2 rating)
1.493 - Legends of Chima (0.289 adults 18-49, 0.2 rating)
1.241 - Level Up (0.280 adults 18-49, 0.2 rating)

Interesting development: http://screamscape.com/html/six_flags_over_georgia.htm
Removing their amphitheater. Could mean nothing for GAm, or it could indicate a chain wide disinterest in these park features.

(As for SFGA02, he openly stated he is 12. That alone is punishable by banhammer… His first post, the thread he created, was not trolling. But every subsequent post was…)
