I wouldn't be surprised if there are people that go see movies every week, or people that go to the mall (not to work) three times a week. I think everyone in this world has something they love. There is a reason why I think there are much more guy enthusiasts than women enthusiasts but than you would call me sexist, so I won't say anything.

I appreciate people being passionate about things and wish people would be more passionate about life in general — case in point, my signature & catchphrase, a short way of saying "Be fanatical about what you do and live life to the fullest." But I think the point is to always be hyper aware of others and how your actions are affecting them. If your fun is in any way taking away from others' in a non-competitive situation (and coaster-riding is not meant to be competitive), something is wrong.

^^I never really understand the credit thing. It just seems like showing off to other people that I have been there, there, and ridden this many coasters. What I really don't care about, is that people ride kiddie coasters just so they can add to the count (and mention it in there posts or trip reports). They don't even seem to enjoy those coasters. If I ride a kiddie coaster, it's because I enjoy it - as weird as that might sound. Examples would be the Little Dipper, the wooden one at Kings Island which I think is a little better than the Little Dipper, and the Harry Potter one / the one that used to be at Cypress Gardens coasters.

While riding the Dare Devil Dive today, I came across Brandon Bruce, Katy Enrique, what looked like that David guy from yesterday's video, and a cameraman driving in a golf kart towards Southwest Territory..,

What you're explaining is what you think is a good idea, and it really makes no sense at all to be honest. Everybody respects your opinion, but it just doesn't really make sense ,so they are commenting on it. Also, using capital letters doesn't get your point across any better, it just makes you look like a fool, so stop.

Again with the capital letters. Also it will help if you know how to spell. It's babies not "Baby's" and you're the one that's acting like a baby. You're annoying alot of people on this forum. Is that your goal?

I would just ignore the troll, he should go away from boredom. Anyways, back on topic, do you suppose Six Flags will end up finishing these "hints" before they go to Gurnees Zoning Board? I would guess they might, since what they present will likely spoil the rest of the teasers.

Why ignore the troll when counter-trolling is so much fun?!

Because it completely kills the topic at hand. Not only that, but it encourages the troll to continue on with its childish antics. Just ignore, forget, and move on.

Southwest territory is one of the best themed areas I would hate to see it changed. If there was more super hero theming it would make sense to do it over by Yankee Harbor, Mardi Gras, and/or Orleans Place. I would love to see more brand theming especially super hero theming. Unfortunately I don't think we will. I know that doing theming like that costs alot of money. They have to pay Warner Bros., DC, or whoever for the rights to use it.

That's why they ditched the Wiggle's World theming, to save the money.

My guess is when the variance is presented, they'll say it in a way that makes everyone so confused. Ex: this attraction will reach over 125 feet several times (referring to a coaster OR ride cycle of a skyscreamer)

Correct if I'm wrong but I can't seem to think of a part of America where all of the super heroes and villains live.

Seriously though - we don't need any more DC themed rides. Not only do they not at all fit with the theme of the park, but so many of them just look gaudy covered in cardboard cutouts and broken theming. Thankfully, the three that we have now actually blend in decently and don't look completely out of place. But still, the areas of our park are generic enough that theming rides to match them should be effortless (but of course, this is Six Flags we're talking about). If you want a DC themed area, there are plenty of other parks that provide them.

I doubt they will because most of the general public won't know about the meeting and hopefully everyone won't go posting it everything and spoil the parks announcements. (Not only does the park not like this, but it makes us look bad.) Plus it just seems like they like making videos. I remember before when the Youtube page was updated like once a year but ever since Brandon came over they've been a lot more active on it.

I agree with that. He's especially active on Great America's Twitter page. He's done a really good job so far as a PR specialist.

Someone will post the information — upthread, someone was even talking about streaming the meeting. But it's not a true, full reveal because details like theming, colors, the ride's name and whatnot don't have to come out, so I'm one to think that it's OK to pass along info from the meeting.

The park will likely try to keep the information at the meeting very bare bones: We'll likely find out the manufacturer and the type of ride, whether it's a coaster or a skyscreamer, where in the park it will be, how it will effect the skyline and how much noise it will create, both mechanically and from anticipated riders — stuff the neighbors would want to know in anticipation of any potential problems. That's it, though. They'll save the big, fancy reveal of all the other parts until they see fit.

This can't happen....Great America must show the plans to the Gurnee Zoning Board prior to approval. I was at the Chang fiasco, during that meeting you could see the ride's layout with the lift running along the side of hurricane harbor.

^^ I meant more like posting about it on the parks facebook and places where the GP will see it. I know people who have talked about leaked info and whatnot on the parks facebook and got banned from commenting on it ever again. Talking about it on sites like this is fine. I know it's cool to be the guy who knows it all but it's really not worth it in the end.

That is a video I found about Six Flags Great America and the Gurnee Zoning Board, back from 2010 with the whole Chang fiasco. It kind of gives you an idea of what goes on at them.

It should be abundantly clear that nothing is happening to Eagle except maybe a repaint. It is physically impossible for Eagle to get the Iron Horse treatment if they're going to run it backwards for Fright Fest, wonderfully illustrated by the fact that Rattler closed for refurbishments in early August, and Texas Giant took the entirety of the 2010 season. They're not going to leave Eagle closed down until the end of July for Iron Horse refurbishments.

The key here is to have low expectations and we won't be disappointed. It could range from a new show to a SkyScreamer to a new coaster. Whatever it turns out to be, rest assured that nothing is going to happen to Eagle.

I noticed SFGAm took away the option to post recommendations on their FB page. The only way you can post on their FB page is commenting on things they post. This goes along with what were saying how they don't want things public. And I tend to agree I don't think they are as worried about forums like this and the zone. The FB page is much more public and can buzzkill any big announcements.
