I went to BGT 3x last spring break, the first day Kumbas misters were on, the second and third day they were off, it shouldt be that big of a deal (and with all the humidity in Florida its better with them off ).
Well I hope I don't see any of that from Vu again, this year. I want it to be operating FULLY this year!
That means so long periods of closure time or long delays and such, they better have ALL the bugs worked out of it THIS year!
It happens on all rides, but Vu is a "specail" ride. It needs "specail" attention. Its kind of like the slow kid in 1st grade who didn't know the alphabet except slower . Thats what they need to fix for sure.

I'm sure they try their best. Look at who made the ride.

Thats a debatable topic. Vekomas SLCs and Boomarangs are pretty reliable, but look at the flyers and GIBs those are just disasters. There Kiddie coaster are so so as well. To make the statement sound more ture you could say Vekoma has manufactured some very reliable coaster types.
Id hardly say Vekoma is reliable. Here's my experience as far as Vekoma's reliability:
Unreliable: SLC, Flying Coasters, GIB
Somewhat reliable: Boomerangs
Reliable: Kids coasters (but who really notices when they are down?)
The unreliableness (is that a word) heavily outweights the reliableness (is that word).
Also almost all of the rides Vekoma makes are low capacity.
All of the above reasons can be attributed to why Vekoma filed for Bankruptcy. (I wonder if they called Peter Fransis Geraci? )
They used to have that Batman stunt show, I liked that. Maybe they could put it back by B:TR somehow and have a Batman themed area???
Anyway, Vekoma in my opinion seems to make unreliable coasters. Even Spacely's (which I think was built by Vekoma, if not, I'll delete this post) seems to be needing some repairs. Last time I rode it (this past season, the ride ops let us ride because no one else was in line and the park was almost closing) you could start to see the plywood under the seats from where the black cushion had been tearing. It's things like this (the paint on Vu) that tend to make a coaster look unreliable to the GP (and myself).

You got to ride because you're at least three feet tall....the ride is pretty questionable,t hough. It cant go up the lift hill in rain and won't park itself right when loaded.

Well, basically any coaster with a tire driven lift has trouble in the rain going up the lift. Also the coaster right next door, IW has some troubles in the rain parking, makes that lovely noise when the kicker tires loose traction

That is the way the station was designed when they built it. If they want to have the same technology that the other BMs have they probably have to gut out the center of the track in the station and design a support system for those new tires to be placed on. I'm surprised BM hasnt done that already for them.
Papas wrote:I dont understand why Wolf has to use mondo drive tires in the station, whatever, i'm sure theres a good reason.
Older Technology, that's basically it. Would it really be worth it replacing the vertical kickers with the pinch drive like the other 2 B&M's when it could get by with what it has, even if moisture presents a problem.
Our new frisbee most likely wont be running in the rain either with it's 2 vertical drive tires(only one which contacts the gondola at any one time). Maybe it's just a south side thing, sooner or later all rides on the south side of the park will have to close for light rain
