X-Flight new for 2012

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

Has anyone seen a layout of the park yet? I assume they are going to keep it that you can walk in a loop but if the station is going to be near the Demon's railroad crossing that's not a lot of room for walking.

Or are they pinching off that section and they way to make the "lap" is to go through Southwest territory?

They still don't have a layout on the website, so I'm more curious as to how you guys thing that is the station or the layout of it.

It is NOT the Station, The station will be closer to the railroad next to Demon's turn.

Could it be apart of the control tower since I see footers going right up to it. Though I'm not sure they use those kind of bases for that kind of themed structure.

To Johnny.Ink, I believe the station and final brake run will go by/partially on top of the rail road track close to the turn of Demon into the rock formation. If I am understanding the layout right, will the lift and drop go in the angle towards Buccaneer Battle?

^Well SWF's old exit pathway is still there, I always thought they'd use it for X-Flight, but we simply do not know yet. The only reason they tore the railroad apart is because of the construction equipment. I really don't see many changes to its route.

Nope, it's just a "super footer", there will be multiple supports on it. A Super Footer, for example on Bull's turn around next to Viper. That's all one big footer in the center.

Scratch that, I just realized the final turn before the brake is too close to that area so that will not be the ext.

Do you mean "when"? If so, I'd assume the 23rd seeing as how the Christmas holiday is on a weekend this year. Come back maybe the 27th....

If I had to guess they'll probably have a week off, from Dec 26-Dec 30, then come back on Mon, Jan 2. If the job is bring rushed, or their boss is just a dick, they are really entitled to no days off since all holidays fall on non work days. Of course any time off will be unpaid.

This has been a tame winter so far, so construction seems to have been going along smoothly, thank goodness.

The weather is doing us a big favor with good weather that they might get it done and have it open before opening day.

You guys are jinxing us.

We will have a really big January and February like last year probably - snow-wise.

Always seems to happen now. But it would be great if it is just cold with no snow.

That would be great.

Actually, believe it or not, Monday, Dec 26 is a national holiday. It's "Christmas Day - observed." The same holds true for Monday, January 2nd. That day is "New Year's Day - observed," another national holiday. Of course, that doesn't mean that they *have* to have those days off, but I would guess it's unlikely that they would work on those days.

Wohoo for not being cheated out of "off days" due to holidays falling on crappy weekends. :)

Generally in the trades we work these supposed holidays, but usually you get an extra 8 hours on your check for the holiday (even if it is on the weekend), never know though. I doubt the job is being rushed at this point

Looks like my prediction of vertical construction the first week of January will very likely be true. New prediction lift hill being topped off by the end of January.

We have like 5 inches of snow up at my house right now, and I've been skiing for a few weeks. But this winter has been pretty lame...I want more!

I realize that there may be more outside of the view of the webcam, but doesn't it look like they have installed most of the footers?

Edit: Grammar

^Yeah, I've said it before, they're working in a pattern from the left to the right (for the most part). And they're really close to the railroad now.
