Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

^I was thinking that too. In the pics you can see a gray bar in the middle that connects the cars. I really hope its not two sides because then youll have people yelling to the other side to get on the same train as there friends.

As shown here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bB39M4TMfqs on Raptor, there are two sides with guests waiting on both sides of the station. I take it as the line splits in two before you head up the stairs to the station?

People wont be yelling across the station, when the line splits they will go the same way and ride 2 per row. Groups of more than 2 will be riding in front/behind each other not on the other side of the train.

Right. It would be like Eagle, except only loading one train.

Loading will go as such...

There will be a split in the queue, one goes to each side of the ride. Then once in the station, the train will pull in, restraints will unlock, everyone exits the same way they entered and they all exit the station, after that is done, the gates open and they can load the train. From that point it should be like any other coaster other the extremely slow 2 step loading/unloading procedures.

This ride look like its gonna be a wait time nightmare 2 hours when superbusy or more plus if they add the Flashpassers that would make it move more slowly. I hope they add a single rider line because it will be upsetting if they just send a train with 4 or more empty seats without any riders on it. Hopefully this ride dont have alot of downtime and glitches. So if your going nextyear get in this ride first. Well see how this new coaster do next season I hope they have a great crew. Looking forward to see what happen next year and beyond already cross fingers.

^It's a B&M so I imagine it will have little down time. I do agree that the wait time for this ride will be pretty insane, the GP seems to be really pumped about this new coaster, during my last visit to the park, every line I stood in people were talking about the new coaster for next year. I predict next years opening day will be a mad house :? .

That's even if the ride is open on Opening day.

Now this means nothing, but it seems these days that Six Flags aims for Memorial Day to open new rides. I'd say unless they announce something else, that's probably when to expect it to open, even though by all means you'd think a new ride would be open right around opening day of the season.

I'm going to assume that they are utilizing the old Raceway Garage for X-Flight's PLC

To be fair I believe the infamous naked ride on Nemesis came before Merlin took over Alton Towers. Not sure about Thorpe Park though. :D

Great America never seems to rush to get up their new ride. However, considering how much land still needs to be cleared (and SFGAm doesn't appear to be in an rush to do so), god only knows when the ride will be open.

Once the land is clear AND the parts arrive and footers are in, the ride SHOULD probably go up pretty quickly and be ready for its first riders about 1 month after the structure is complete...at least that's why my (faulty, perhaps) memory tells me about B&M's - that is, the first test run is usually done about 2 weeks after the structure is complete and the ride usually opens about 2 weeks after that first test run (if everything is a-ok).

Will have to keep an eye on construction this year/next year to see my memory is accurate. :)

I wouldn't be surprised if nothing major happens until November or December.

If what I hear is correct, later this week, there will be a delivery from the B&M fabrication plant.

If my sources are informing me correctly, AKA, MY COMMON SENSE, there won't be a delivery or any sort next week as the land isn't even CLOSE to being ready to start vertical construction. Yep.

Didn't Superman track not show up until the end of October, and V2 and DV track in November? And trains never show up until after the track is complete, so unless the park bought something to put on display..I doubt we'll see anything arrive next week besides maybe footer molds.

There is no sense in delivering parts of the ride until the area is close to being ready for any type of construction. SplashWater Falls line railings and steps are still up.

Superman track arrived mid-September 2002, about a week before they even started disassembling ShockWave. So the whole track can never show up early stuff is not true.

I think it would be better for the park to bring in the track now because it might be worse later on in the year when the weather starts getting worse with snow. Sure, it's not going to put up till next year most likely - the track, but to me it just makes sense bringing it now because of how bad the weather gets later in the year. Also, B&M might want the track to be out of their factory already so they can store new roller coaster track for upcoming coasters they must complete.

The problem I see though with bringing the track in so fast THIS year is that you have Iron Wolf which needs to go, so that's a lot of track with both coasters at the park at one time. If the park could wait, I think they are better off getting rid of Iron Wolf before they bring X-Flight track in.

I wouldn't expect to see any track just yet. We'd be lucky to see any type of vertical construction before the off season starts.

Judging by history and the needs of the park, I'd guess major vertical construction will start sometime in late Feb or March. That is if they aim to have it open on opening day.

So has anybody heard if the raceway will return after X-Flight is completed, since they still have all of the cars parked there? I didn't see the raceway in that promotional video for X-flight, but I suppose they could always bring that back later with a new, more interesting track layout. It would be a shame to get rid of the cars- they are a classic family theme park ride.

With the cost of operating GAR and lets face it the ride was never THAT popular, there is no reason to bring it back.

Ok this may be a stupid question here and I haven't read all of the replies but is X-Flight going where Iron Wolf is now? Or is X-Flight being placed somewhere else? Im just a bit confused at the moment. I think my brain is fried right now.
