First is does look like Bugs Bunny National Park is leaving, here are two things to support this: 1) The official site does not list any of those ride from BBNP area and it states the following "Six Flags Great America has three kids areas just for young fans, including KIDZOPOLIS and Skull Island.2011 Kids Map will be available online soon." With Camp Cartoon (which those rides are still listed on their site) that would be the three kids area
2) Here is a picture of the train ride theming that is now in the SFGAM graveyard - where rides go to die. Daffy Ducks face says it all!
This location would be a great place for a giant Ferris wheel!

Pffft. Hahahahahahaha!!!
Seriously though, our park needs a ferris wheel asap!! I wouldn't mind at all a ferris wheel in 2012 instead of a new coaster.
It certainly wouldn't be impossible for it to be gone, but it seems this past season with the addition of Little Dipper that BBNP saw a little jump in the amount of people in there; at least that was the case every time I was there.
I was not saying that a ferris wheel was coming/going there, but I would like to see one go there. Especially when SFKK and New Orleans, both closed, with Ferris wheels just sitting there abandoned. I know there are legal issues and Six Flags can not touch any of those rides, but it would be nice. I never though about the go karts going there, but that is an option too (especially since it is additional revenue for the part). I go there quite a bit and most every time I was there in 2010, the Bugs Bunny area has a sign saying to visit Wiggles instead. I do not recall ever seeing the little train running either (when walking past) and there was not a worker/or patrons in the station either. The ball house in 2009 was not open and as for 2010 I did not go back there, so I cannot comment if it ever opened last year. That area reminds me of the old climbing area (before the Little Dipper) where it just said that the attraction would not open today and never opened all the 2009 season. You could see the climbing ropes were gone and other sections and there was not much hope for it. The Helicopter and Busy Bees are from the opening of the park, so 35 years is a lot out of those and multiple move. I think the Wiggles addition was for them to remove one of the older kids area as the rides get older without offending families.
One other note is that the Little Dipper is not in the BBNP area and I think that was intentional as well. They moved the BBNP entrance sign after that ride and list the Little Dipper as a Yukon Territory ride.

It was open in 2010.
I don't see why they would get rid of an entire kids area just for one new attraction or even upcharge attraction at that. Little Dipper was built there drawing more crowds to that area and isn't Six Flags still trying to go with the whole family in mind ideas? Also, there is a big chunk of land in the former Splash Water Falls area which could be even bigger if the removed the antique cars.

^It was clear it was the step-child of the kids areas. It was run down, kids only rides where parents could not ride with them. Add to it being in an awful placement for seeing the rides from the main path and it was doomed. Dipper or not, the writing was on the wall for it to go.
I'd guess Splashwater Falls/Great American Raceway for 2012 attraction.
"One more odd rumor has come in as well, claiming that the park could be looking at bringing in the S&S Thrill Shot from SF Magic Mountain as well later this season."
What is going on here! New rumors just seem to be poping up everywhere! This is so exciting!
^ I don't buy that for a second. Everything I've heard from Magic Mountain and Great Adventure is that those things are a total POS. Great Adventure's was closed alot this past season, and I don't even remember the last time the one at Magic Mountain ran.
You are correct, I remember it going SBNO for a long time and didn't realize that it re-opened. The only time i've ever actually seen one operating was at GADV and iss freaky as hell just to watch because of how much the towers bend.
I want to say that SFMM's was staffed and open last April, but I don't think I ever saw it run. Either way if it's destined for SFGAm we'll know long in advance, that would need 3 height variances. And since Plencner is incarcerated, someone else will have to keep an eye on the village website .

I'll keep my eye on it, but if Great America needs a height Variance they probably won't appear until August-October.
"I've been told that some part of every wish will be heard but lately I lost sight of the truth in those words."
I thought the kids area was so much cooler prior to the 1998 whole re-doing of it, when I was around 10 years old. It wasn't nearly as modern looking and kind of run downish but now there is just so much empty space in that area.
I do still have extremely high doubts about anything big and costly over the next few years and especially in 2012 after such a big waterpark addition. However, a hand-me-down flat does seem in the range of rides we could possibly get. A ferris wheel as well.
In case anyone wanted some new rumors floating around, Gurnee's Zoning Board meeting was cancelled for the 23rd of February. The highest of doubts this is related to SFGAm, but it could Be! Th next meeting is on March 23rd.
Last Visit, American Eagle BACKWARDS 5 times in a row right before the park closed. I cannot WAIT to go back for Fright Fest!
Was that little train originally across from Logger's Run or Roaring Rapids or the entrance they use for Necropolis?? I swear I've seen some sort of kids ride, but the tracks have so much weeds and plants and stuff around that it looks like it hasn't been used in years, unless thats how its supposed to look and it's part of the theming?
The train (Looney Tooter) has never been closed. It's always been operating. The weeds don't really matter because it can be taken as part of theming, but it was open every day last year.
EDIT: The only time Looney Tooter closed is when Bugs Bunny National Park would close for the day or season.
NOOOOOOO GOD SAVE THE LOONEY TUNES CHARACTER MEMORIBELIA WHO WANTS TO BREAK IN AND SAVE DAFFY COME ON I CANT BE THE ONLY DAFFY FAN (INSERT YOUR OWN PUN HERE LOL) OUT THERE. WHOSE GOT A TRUCK........ LETS DO THIS!!!!! unfortunately kidding
FParker185 wrote:That would be a pretty nice Ferris Wheel location. Though it's at the point where anywhere in the park would be a nice location for a Ferris Wheel
SERIOUSLY!?!?! AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO WANTS TO SEE SKY WHIRL MAKE A COME BACK? This would be a prime location for it. Kind of shaded area. nice and cool. bring part of Great America back that was lost. Not to mention the ride was an engineering marvel, It was the only triple armed ferris wheel in existence, sure there were doubles but never a triple. Besides this way it wouldn't have the ridiculous loading time that standard ferris wheels have one at a time round round and ride over. This way you can relax, and have a nice long leisurely ride. Mesh the cages in so no one can throw garbage out of it and there you go perfect ride, and put lights on it so it looks amazing at night.
