You know what, I'm sittin here freakin out cause I fear Weber may look at our park & say we "need" another family attraction...then there's a hopeful side set in me that well be very pleased. I feel like if I sit here & say I fear "chang" is no longer comin, that I'm a complaining fanboy I love SFGAm so much, more tham any other park because I was raised on it. I just want out park to grow & be looked at with enthusiasm, not a disappointment. Our park is highly talked about before anyone visits & then nailed for havin original but "ok" rides. I only hear in reviews or personally, that our park is clean beautiful & nice (which I agree, and am thankful for) but that we have nothin to set us apart. Which I agree but disagree on. I'm sorry, I don't want it to seem like I'm complain, I just don't like what I hear about the place I love so much.
I just hate it that, SFGAdv, a park that sucks due to its lack in anything but mega coasters, has Bizarro, KingdaKa, & ElToro. Those are GREAT rides but I feel they don't deserve them cause of what they neglect in their park. They don't need "Chang"... I would only say we do, cause its a big & reliable B&M which is one thing were known for.
I say @*#$ the chang...give us an S&S 4D in that spot now that would tick off SFGAdv cause they think they'll be first to get one.
You cannot be right in the brain and think we need more family attractions. Since 2004 we have gotten tons of attractions/rides geared toward families one way or another.
2004: Ragin Cajun/ Jester's Wild Ride/ Big Easy Balloons 2005: Hurricane Harbor 2006: Space Shuttle America film returned 2007: Wiggles World/ Operation Spygirl 2008: Dark Knight Coaster 2009: Buccaneer Battle 2010: Little Dipper/Glow in the Park Parade
I've wanted a 4D here since the original X was introduced. I've always pictured it blue with black supports...? Haha. If they can figure "Chang" to fit in that small space port area of the park, they could make a 4D. Annnyywwayyy....I'm somewhat nervous. Maybe this will set the rumor of a dive machine comin here to side...I feel there's too much up in the air right now. Haha I'm goin crazy & right with David on Bloodpressure.
You guys are acting WAY too spoiled. Look at all the great additions you've had over the past few years. Bucaneer Battle is REALLY cool. Having Little Dipper is a neat and historical thing. TDK is no where near as bad as everyone says.
GADV has only gotten TDK and Bizarro (not really new) in the past few years, while SFGAM has gotten TDK, Bucaneer Battle, Little Dipper, and MagiQuest. GADV needs something "new" more than we do, and it's not even that new.
And to whoever said GADV is a park that sucks, they're completely wrong. They have Houdini's Great Escape, which is better than ANY flat ride in SFGAM, their park is clean, well-themed, and has more Top Ten coasters than any other park in the chain.
^Hey, do you guys (SFGAdv) want Little Dipper, and Buccaneer Battle? We will trade you for Bizzaro or Kingda Ka. Little Dipper came to SFGAm as to recruit the people that used to go to Kiddieland to come to our park. It was a cheaper addition to the park. It's not a bad addition, but how many family friendly roller coasters do you need? We have Dark Knight (which I like though), Ragin Cajun, Whizzer, Little Dipper now, and Spacely's. You call us spoiled. You are the guys that got at first $25 million Kingda Ka, but than to fix it, wasn't it like $40 million altogether, and than the year after you get El Toro for $12 million. For a ride people rave about, why aren't their more El Toro's at Six Flags parks?? It's not $20 million price.

Hey, I would be happy with a water coaster like Magic Waters has!

Two words. Bullshit. Magiquest is a small upcharge game. Buccanear Battle never has a line and Little Dipper is a family coaster. You guys got a TDK too. Plus you have El Toro(2006) Kingda Ka (2005) That two major thrill rides back to back. We haven't gotten a single thrill ride since 2003. We need a thrill ride a hell of a lot more than you do.
* walks in and sees the flames of war starting up* people , people can we all just take a chil for a bit? Look right now no one knows anything so can't we all just sit back and wait to see whats going to happen ?
Well, you weren't complaining when the arbitrary favoritism was directed towards you. But as soon as another park gets the favoritism, you get mad.
Personally, I think the smaller SF parks need Chang more than we do, but no offense, you guys should be the last in the chain to get a new stand-up coaster, at least second to last after Magic Mountain.
But it's been confirmed that Great American Scream Machine (which btw, you guys do NOT want) is leaving July 1st, and that Chang is replacing it.
^^^I would rephrase the thing about we haven't gotten a thrill ride since 2003. We haven't gotten a roller coaster in which teenagers and older think that roller coaster is thrilling enough. We have gotten "thrill rides" since 2003 though. We have gotten King Chaos (I think it's boring, but some might say it's thrill. ), and Revolution in 2004. In 2005, we have gotten a waterpark which includes Wahoo Racers which some might say that's thrilling, the wavepool at times can be thrilling, the purple and orange slide can be very thrilling, and what about the steep bodyslides? In 2006, we have gotten the Tornado which some say is thrilling.
I consider the Dark Knight thrilling, but it's doesn't seem like it is to a lot of teenagers and older.

We have confirmed the removal of The Great American Scream Machine. We wouldn't have posted it if we didn't think it was true.
Think about it...
The decision to send Chang to Six Flags Great America was in my opinion another one of Shapiro's uneducated ideas. Six Flags Great America already has a stand up coaster. What would be the point in two of the same kind.
Weber has definitely decided to make some changes for the better. Six Flags Great Adventure hasn't received anything since El Toro that was worth screaming about. Dark Knight disappointed a lot of people and the water park received something new this year. Chang will be a breath of fresh air for this area. We already had a stand up coaster before, however, that was taken out during the ride rotation program years ago.
As far as the 5D Attraction, we would have liked to seen that, but honestly what could they have stuck in the tiny simulator building that would have made people go crazy like Harry Potter? It was probably a prototype ride that costs millions. Al Weber didn't want to get in the same stroke of wasting money on rides that are not needed. Let's face it, SFGAdv already has 2 indoor rides, what would be the point of another.
The source we have confirmed this with is a reliable rides supervisor. For those of you who don't believe us all it is right now is a waiting game. For those of you who have checked out our site, we only state the truth, we have nothing to gain from this...
^And you think it makes perfect sense at SFGAM with a standup coaster there already!?
Correct me if I am wrong, however, Six Flags Great America has lost one coaster over the years and that was Shockwave. Six Flags Great Adventure has lost Chiller, FreeFall, Musik Express, AutoBahn, Space Shuttle, Chaos, Jumpin Jack Flash, Evolution, Inverter, and so on. I think it is time Six Flags Great Adventure gets some much needed love.
About 4 months ago when Shapiro was still in dictation we were part of a Six Flags Fan Call. This call mainly consisted of fans of the chain asking Shapiro questions about the parks. At no time did anything come up about Six Flags Great America lacking coasters or rides. The call was mainly about Six Flags Great Adventure lacking flat rides and how for the last 5 years we have seen nothing but the removal of rides including coasters.
In fact, on the call, Mark Shapiro stated Six Flags Great Adventure was the gem of the chain. If SFGAM is such a main player in the chain, how come it wasn't on the list for the 5D Attraction or Kingda Ka or El Toro?
I think the decision to put Chang in SFGAM was one of the most stupidist ideas Shapiro has ever come up with. There is no need, you have Iron Wolf there already! Now don't get me wrong, I think ripping out a coaster for another is just stupid but if it is because of part replacement then I am all for it. I would rather them rip it out and place something there new then make it a smoking section....

Well our stand up sucks huge ass. Its guarenteed to be gone in the next 3 years if it doesnt get a rehab. I think you guys would be better off with a dive machine or GCI. You already have a B&M looper.
Top 5: 1) El Toro. 2) Maverick. 3) Millenium Force. 4) Diamondback. 5) X2. Coaster Count: 167 (41 Wood, 125 Steel) @Coaster_Cole on Twitter

Six Flags Magic Mountain has a B&M Looper (Scream) and a Standup (Riddlers Revenge)
All of you are acting like retarded three year olds. At this point, that is the best metaphor that I can make. A month ago, all of you were CERTAIN that Chang was coming to SFGAm. Neither SFGAm nor SFGAdv needs another coaster for 2011, and I personally hope that Chang is moved elsewhere. A lot of the "big 2011 plans" have probably already been set. Just because SFGAm canceled ONE Village of Gurnee meeting doesn't mean that Chang isn't coming to Six Flags.

Calm down, you're all a bunch of drama queens.
It's a forum this is what it is used for.... discussion...
And as for Chang still coming to Six Flags Great America, it isn't happening. That decision was made when Shapiro was in charge, this new guy Weber has already made some big changes including the Six Flags offices going to Dallas. Weber obviously sees that putting a standup in a park with one already is silly. This is the 50th Anniversary, maybe SFGAM is getting something new all together!

Bizzaro Badger wrote:Haha. Yeah, but thats SFMM. We're Great America and Great Adventure. The runner ups.
Just for your information Six Flags Magic Mountain and Six Flags Great America are runner ups to Six Flags Great Adventure. The attendance reports & revenue reports for Six Flags Great Adventure are much higher of those at other parks. We have three HUGE cities all around us, not to mention we are in one of the most heavily populated areas of the United States...
Isnt funny how everyone thinks there parks have the most attendance in the chain? Lets see. If Webber was smart and relaocates some SFMM rides to other parks. I wouldnt mind getting scream.

I would love to see Scream get re-located. Just the fact that it is in the parking lot, makes me dislike that ride...
