Yes, of course they do. That goes w/out saying. But this meeting wasn't postponed. It's still happening, just w/out SFGAm's request being made.
What suddenly they decided to ship it off to St. Louis and we get nothing for the space marked with a new ride 2011 sign? Don't be foolish. It is not going to be build next month anyway. Calm down.
So just because a sign CURRENTLY states that a new ride is coming in that location in 2011 definitely means there will be one there? You don't think the park could easily remove that sign IF plans were canceled and the vast majority of people who attend the park wouldn't even had remembered it being there? Don't be foolish. That sign MIGHT have as much meaning as the "farewell/final rides on Whizzer" sign that was hanging on that coaster for weeks before it was removed when SF changed its mind about removing it for Superman.

And St. Louis would be a much smarter decision for the company than SFGAm in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, I want Chang to come to SFGAm, but for a business decision I feel that SFStL would need something like this rather than SFGAm. Hey, new guy if no Chang, can you give us a Wipeout and a Flying Bobs, and don't neuter the Flying Bobs / Thunderbolt (need lighting, and music)

For a ride like Chang you need to plan in advance. It is a massive ride. You can't put it anywhere. And just because Six Flags won't be present at this meeting does NOT mean we don't get Chang for 2011 and that there won't be another meeting soon with Six Flags there. Don't compare SFMM's Dance Coaster to this. They are probably getting something much bigger anyway. They don't care about small rides.
I knew I should have posted this earlier, in fact I did. A couple weeks ago, actually a few days after I started posting I got word that Al Weber has tabled all of Shapiro's "huge" plans. Which are in fact big but probably most are scrapped right now.
Weber went to all the parks a few times and evaluated all the needs of each park. Shapiro was favoring some parks, Weber is changing that and is going to focus on each park individually. This might mean no clones anymore. I heard a rumor that all the 2011 coasters would all be Green Lantern themed, now don't quote me on that, btut how much would that suck.
So basically next week the new plans will be in place. Theirs a possibility Chang could be coming to Great America and theirs a possibility its going somewhere else. But yes, its new management. Weber knows what each parks needs and is going to give it to them. I knew I should have let you guys know earlier but no one would have believed me.

I wonder what we could get if not Chang, I hope to god that it's not a childrens area, or a family/kiddie coaster/ride.
I wouldn't say they don't care about small rides, but then again its obviously not in their priorities... Whether they had a run in with a situation simular to DK at SFNE with permits, SFMM should have fought to have MSDC done at some point in 2010 cause they need it. The teo parks I love their rides but have little appreciation for is SFMM & SFGAdv. This is due to their lineup of coaster thrills, but in any other department they seriously lack in, those being childrens areas & other flats.
As for "Chang" bein postponed in meetings, I hope & don't see it effecting 2011. Well see. I really am hopin it comes here cause I actually kind of love another lift dominating the front of the park, the inversions are awesome & dominating in themselves, & I have great faith our park will make that rea of the park look very nice.
If nothing happens by the end of the month regarding the final meeting, then it will be clear Chang is no more. Until then, wait and see. Meetings can be rescheduled. Chang will not be going up sooner than 4-5 months from now anyway.
Weber thought of it this way, what does great america need? It doesn't need another stand up that's for sure. But I can tell you right now I'm in the dark like everyone else. Who knows what's happening. We will know soon.
Well what we could use is a multi looper like Chang. Maybe we'll get a floorless? Maybe we'll get a floorless Chang? Maybe we'll get Standup Chang? You never know.
Top 5: 1) El Toro. 2) Maverick. 3) Millenium Force. 4) Diamondback. 5) X2. Coaster Count: 167 (41 Wood, 125 Steel) @Coaster_Cole on Twitter
Well, if we could get a sitdown Chang, that to me would be a much better thing. In my opinion, SFA needs more advertising, a paint job for Batwing for sure if they haven't done that yet, and more flats. Heck, why even have SFA anymore? How about getting Costco to buy it??
Besides SFStL, if they didn't do that stupid remake to Texas Giant, I would say to send it to Six Flags Over Texas (They don't have a lot of capacity eaters at that park, but this doesn't mean that I don't think that park isn't great.) to replace Texas Giant. They have one B&M at that park for a major Six Flags park.
Hey, new guy if you still have Two-Face somewhere, do you want to send it over here in Splash Water Falls area?

They decide to not go to one meeting (maybe something has changed with the ride itself or they need more time) and suddenly Chang is going to another park. This is mid June. It would have been decided like a month ago before the first meeting. This coaster move was an important part of 50th Anniversary plans.
Ok so how about we all don't jump to conclusions. Maybe sfgam made a last minute change and wanted to present it as a floor less. Who knows. All I have to say is that time will truly tell. There is no time limit for them to go to the board meeting, it's not like the board will not hear of their case after June.
Am I the only one that finds this hilarious/awesome?
SFGAm pwned all the coaster n00bs.
I actually think Chang would work better at a smaller park that lacks that "big" steel coaster. Just like it did at SFKK. Hopefully SFGAm gets something closer to a floorless or a prototype, something that makes more sense.
Top 5 wood-5-Goliath 4-Ravine Flyer II 3-Phoenix 2-Voyage 1-El Toro Top 5 Steel- 5-Velocicoaster 4- Maverick 3- Fury 325 2-Steel Vengeance 1-X2 Coaster Count: 444
I sincerely hope that Mr. Weber doesn't mess around with all the plans. My predictions: Something our park has never seen. Ever. No Stand-up. I don't know exactly what it is, but I have a strong feeling.
To late. He already has. With what Shapiro was going to start doing was going to set SF right back into bankruptcy protection which is why Stark booted out Shapiro. David, you would hate Shapiro even more if he stayed and all his 2011 plans went forward. I'm not sure when I can provide a good example of why you'd be pissed but I know you would.
The only reason why GrAm was removed from this meeting was to get all the plans put together, which like I said, it will be sooner than you think. Weber wanted everything that hasn't been started to be halted, for example DanceCoaster. And now Chang and everything else that was planned before. I'm starting to sound like a broken record.
To the people doubting me, just keep doubting. Doesn't hurt me.
Last thing we need is a water park expansion. Great Adventure JUST got Tornado! We got our last water ride in 2009. Enough with water. The park itself needs a new thrill ride/flat of some sort for those that have been Superman'd out for 7 years. And why would Weber just halt everything? Unless he plans on sending all them rides to different parks which makes little sense now.
