CHANG WATCH: The Official Topic
^Not really the same other than a few shared elements. If you have been on Mantis it is ultra similar to that with an extra inversion.
If Chang was being converted into a floorless/sitdown for 2011, isn't it weird it is still mostly in a yard in Kentucky untouched?

The track has nothing to do with a conversion, even if it is receiving floorless trains, all that would need to be done is a new station, and new software. And the obvious, new trains.
Has there ever been a Standup B&M converted to floorless?

One of the reasons why Six Flags hates this sites is because people go onto their public facebook pages and start blurting out knowledge that they don't want the general public knowing about.
I'm not saying that you can't post stuff on facebook, but be careful where you post it. Six Flags is generally pretty good to the coaster dork population out there, so don't get them angry by doing something stupid. Oh, and ALWAYS credit other people's work. Doesn't matter if they make money on it or not, copyright is copyright for everything creatively produced. On to other news, I also find it interesting that this coaster is rumored to get a massive retheme but is currently sitting doing nothing. Chang's paint was somewhat faded and me know Mark said he never liked the name Chang or the lackluster theme the ride had. Paint will probably happen early next spring ala Raging Bull 2008. We also know the train(s) are at the park so no work is being done on them. Looks more and more like Chang will stay the way it is and Iron Wolf will die in the next 2 years.

What do they need to do with the trains besides a little bit of maintenance and touch-ups? I'm sure if it was converted to floorless they'd just get entirely new floorless trains. Also, there is still the possibility that they might put Chang's old trains on Iron Wolf if they do convert it to a floorless.
I still don't think it makes sense to have two stand up coasters in the park at the same time. The public won't take very well to it either. Sure Chang is bigger and better than Iron Wolf, but that doesn't defeat the fact that standup coasters don't exactly top the charts in satisfaction surveys.
Dont get me wrong, I enjoy Iron Wolf compared to the majority, in fact I will re ride it multiple times simply because there is never a wait, the ride is fast, and aside from the trains...is in good shape! I do not see them installing Chang as it is and leaving Iron Wolf in the same season. Either Wolf goes and Chang remains a stand up with a new theme... or .... Chang is converted to something else, and Wolf remains. I hope for the latter by a mile. There is no need whatsoever to update the park by giving the public an updated way to get a headache. Stand ups just lead to complaints, no matter how good they are. A Bizzaro type conversion would be probably the best thing for the park.
I haven't heard besides those diving coasters being converted to floorless trains. Something B&M should do. If Jim Winrode was still here probally will since he has a good relationship with B&M,
I am amazed Shockwave was taken down due to nobody basically riding it in the end (and some structure problems) yet Iron Wolf has been a dead zone for years and they still refuse to put it (and whoever is dumb enought o ride it) out of its misery. 13 Years with SFGAm World!
I think it's funny when people say Iron Wolf is "rough".

The problem on Wolfie is not the track, or anything of that nature, if I'm not mistaken the track is in pristine condition. The problem is the train. It was not built by B&M but rather, Giovanna. Hence, the problem. My dad said the 3rd or 4th year that Wolfie operated, it was pretty bad for a new coaster.
----------------------- I know this has no credibility, whatsoever. But, I had a dream that Chang had Behemoth trains, full with a splash down. I'm not too keen with the Behemoth trains, but, I do like the idea of a splashdown!

Those are indeed Behemoth trains, built by B&M. The last train also has the splashdown mechanism.
Wrong, you can not just slap any trains on it. They would have to get special floorless trains raised up because the center of gravity on a human on a standup it much higher than on a floorless.
Wrong again, the track has cracks everywhere that are continuously being welded. The train is not an issue either. The ride runs beautifully, ride The Incredible Hulk Coaster. Iron Wolf is double the age of Hulk yet still runs smoother. New trains really don't fix much, its more the wheels running on the track that makes the difference. The only part of your post was "I know this has no credibility"
That would STILL have nothing to do with the track. Only modifications to the trains. Many on here have repeated that the floorless and the stand-up have the same heart-line.
And you know this how? Yes, the TRAIN has to do with the WHEELS. Hence the train being part of the problem.
Found these pictures of Iron Wolf. You guys can decide the real reason why Iron Wolf is rough. And I believe that it uses Intamin trains. This was because it was B&M's first coaster and they weren't making their own trains at the time. Since they branched off from Intamin, they used Intamin trains.
  Now back on the topic of Chang, I don't think anyone REALLY knows if the heartlines of floorless and stand-up coasters are the same. IF Chang does come to Great America next year and IF it gets a retheme, I wouldn't be surprised if they got new trains, either standup or floorless, with onboard audio. If it doesn't get a major retheme like the Bizarro makeovers, I think that we'll be seeing the normal Chang trains. 13 - GateKeeper
