It's that time of year. The trees are abloom and the screams are starting the be heard. With only a week from opening, I have some updates from what the park has changed over the winter (as far as I've noticed)
Overall, I was impressed with the team members "Preparedness" Everything was being moved quickly and smoothly for the most part a few minor bumps here and there....ahem, me getting stuck in Viper Car 1.
The only thing I was disappointed about was the fact that Superman had only one train while American Eagle had two out of four. It was nice of Six Flags to extend park hours to 7 PM due to the increased crowds.....What crowds? The park was pretty dead after 4:30.
There was one funny thing that happened at the park today, two girls in the line for East River Crawler were arguing on what ERC actually was. I quote: it's a *BLEEPING* LOBSTER!" "NO! IT'S A *BLEEPING* OSTOPUS!" What in the world is an "Ostopus"?
I won't get into any specifics on how the order of my day was....like what I rode and when, because I know no one here wants to read all about that....But the Ride count is at the end if you're interested. You Just want to see the pictures, Don't ya?
So, let's jump into the pictures now, Shall we?
Arriving at Six Flags.
Yup.
STT still looks great.
Ahh, such a good site to see.
Rode this twice as my first Coaster of 2010, crappy picture I know.
I try to get good pictures.
Headed to Viper next. *It's hard to see, but there are new signs for the entrance info. The one on Viper Says "No Wait" and is colored, not just white anymore.
Found that While leaving Viper...yearly maintenance I'm sure.
Guess what wasn't running?
For David.
Full view
I decided not to bother without a Flash Pass.
Not even an hour after opening, didn't ride superman, bad line all day. Only ran one train.
Strange shaped cup
^What it looks like on the outside.
From what I have seen, No Holding Brake.
I know some people can't wait.
hmmm...
Please Pardon our Dust.
Batman flies right over it....definitely a better view than what was there before.
I forgot to grab a map, so I tried to take a last minute photo of it an FAILed.
MagiQuest Sign....The orb doesn't seem to do anything. But there is a similar one at the actually building that lights up.
Main Building
Do it
Eagle how I've missed you....
SHINE!
Eagle Red opened late. Both Sides only had one train, lines weren't too bad....waited no more than 40 minutes. ....For the front.
County Fair Food Court.
Also got new Signage.
....and the stage.
Your Options.
It's quite large. (Not Pictured, some of the old tables can be found near MagiQuest....or, at least, they LOOK the same)
Oh well. I'll live.
What Kind of Prize is that?
Finally!
Yikes! Does anyone have the prices from last year to compare? Don't seem to have changed.
Whizzer Station seems to have been painted. Looks nice.
Better View.
Even better.
(Bad Picture) Still no wheel covers....
What's left of SSA.
....and our goodbye, for now.
Ride count: Raging Bull: 5 Viper: 2 American Eagle B/R: 1/2 Demon: 1 Iron Wolf: 1 Sprockets: 1 BTR: 2 East River Crawler: 1 Triple Play: 1 Whizzer: 1

"I've been told that some part of every wish will be heard but lately I lost sight of the truth in those words."
Nice PTR, but the crowds seemed pretty heavy considering it hasn't even been the official opening day. How do you think it will be in terms of the lines this upcoming Saturday?

The only actual line I waited in was American Eagle. Whizzer, Raging Bull, and others lines were never over a half our when I rode them. But I did hear throughout the day that Whizzer did get pretty bad.

No News there. GAR was just closed, but the cars were there. From American Eagle you can see SWF filled with some water like usual. Probably from the rain.

Sort of lame that they hold private events before the actual opening day for the public. Maybe I am a cynic but whatever.
And did they have a "platinum" flash pass last year? I have been out of the loop for awhile and maybe I just simply missed that. Does the platinum simply allow you enter the flash pass entrance at any time you want? I mean the gold flash pass is fast enough as it is...
EDIT: Just found out.. "New for 2010! Platinum The Flash Pass allows you to enjoy riding our rides with the least amount of waiting! Consecutive Riding allows you to WAIT ONCE and RIDE TWICE. Quantities are limited."
Hope they include the $10 off flash pass coupon this year! they didn't last year in the booklet
