How do you know if someone has something useful to say if the thread is locked?

I don't there there will be much useful to say for the next 10 months or so. Maybe a post or 2 worth of stuff after NoCoaster depending on SFGAm's reaction. Then another post or 2's worth around opening day after people get a chance to ride Sky Trek and see what's happening.

Well Fparker you said it yourself if they file permits around September then construction cannot really begin till then so the summer could be dead as well. It really is ridiculous considering Chang is much shorter than Bull.

Anything over 125 needs a zoning variance. And actually every part of the ride that goes over 125 feet needs a separate variance. Around opening day people can at least see if track is there. Also I wouldn't be surprised if the ground is marked out and surveyed also (if we do in fact get Chang)

Not yet I wouldn't think. We still got 16 months until 2011 opening day.

Well if the park knows for sure they are getting it, they will probably start construction before the end of the 2010 season, so everything will have to be surveyed ahead of time and it's easier to do that during the daytime when the park is closed.

Of course construction has to start this year. They will want Chang to open Opening Day 2011 or close to it. This will be the first major ride since 2003 people will go nuts. On the official site they make it seem like Pictorium is definitely staying so if Chang goes in that area Pictorium will be right by it. And by the looks of it with Dipper going itno BBNP, that leaves SWF area still set to get Go Karts.

According to rcdb:

Height: 154'
121' 7" loop
103' 10" dive loop

So only the lift hill will need a height variance.

I rode in the back row a few weeks before it was removed and no headbanging. I rode regularly and did not stand any way special.

Fact is iron Wolf has lost 80% of its riders over the years since 1990. The largest line in the peak summer days is no more than 25 minutes where Bull, Superman, v2, etc. average over 1:30. People seem to not care about our only stand up anymore. That area is quite dead most of the time. People always pass it but nobody even looks at Wolf to consider riding. If Chang stays the way it is, say goodbye to the least popular coaster in our park (excluding Dark Knight) in 2011. they do not put eagle on the flash pass saying lines are usually too short when eagle always gets more traffic than wolf.

^Again, why would they remove Iron Wolf just because it has a short line most of the time? That's not how it works. Maybe if they actually had the money to replace it with something better, but no. If they want to build something new, they can use one of the spots at our park that is empty.

There were other factors involved. I'm sure that T2's line or Thunder Run's line was much shorter. Also:

-Shapiro didn't like it's name or placement
-The waterpark was far more popular than the theme park.
-Chang is right next to the waterpark. They might end up removing the go-karts as well.

Oh and by the way, look at this:

There's a carnival in Kentucky Kingdom's parking lot

That's the Kentucky State Fair, SFKK is part of the fair and is supplemented with some carnival rides. During that 10 day time frame your season pass is no longer valid that and all rides are Pay Per Ride or on certain days you can get a wristband for all the rides.

Removing Iron Wolf cause it has a short line is EXACTLY how it works. Ridership is the biggest factor on what stays and what goes. It's better to have an empty plot of land that costs nothing than to have a ride there that drains $$ out of the budget though maintenance and staffing just to have no one ride it. I don't see IW going anywhere now, and if it gets Changs trains that may save it, but if ridership stays where it's at, it will be gone sooner rather than later.

For Chang everything you just mentioned is secondary, in which cases when it's valid. If T2 and Thunder Run(which both also border the water park) had fewer riders, one or both would now be gone in favor of the water park expansion rather than Chang.

I just realized...If Great America gets Chang and it is in fact converted to a floorless, it will be the only non-inverted sit-down coaster at Great America where the lift starts directly after the station.

No offense...BUT!

WTF ARE YOU SAYING!

There are many factors that contribute to the removal of rides. You don't just pull out a ride because it has a shorter line. That's actually why you KEEP a ride. Shapiro is all about keeping the ride lines as short as possible. Sure the capacity isn't great, but the line moves quite well. If the trains are indeed replaced, then why would they remove the ride? It would be perfect.

Somewhat true. Iron Wolf when the line extends to the beginning of the queue house is about 25 Minutes. Not too bad.
