Final Bring A Friend Free Crowds?

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby coasterkid94 on June 17th, 2009, 12:41 pm
I'm planning on visiting the park on Friday, June 26, which is the final day that season pass holders can bring a friend for free until late August. Do you expect the crowds to be pretty heavy this day?

One more thing: I did a trip report forum search for the last bring a friend free day last year, and I didn't get any good results.

Thank you!

I don't think you can really predict this since I believe that they didn't offer that coupon last year to bring a friend for free on a weekday. So, it will probably be crowded unless the weather is absolutely terrible.

Crowds are NEVER predictable. Please stop it with these threads. It is June. Kids are out of school. Good weather = crowds. Simple as that.

Heres a simple equation SFGAm + June-August = busy

I don't even bother visiting during the summer because no matter when you go, it will always be busy. Although, for some reason I always REALLY had good luck with Fridays (even with good weather during July) over weekdays.

I don't really agree with your equation. My equation is July 4 + middle of July - first 20 days of August really crowded. June is crowded? Wow.

To answer your question, people want stuff for free. If the weather is in the 80's, you are for the better because than you get people in the waterpark plus they are in the regular park. If it's only 70's, that regular park is going to be much more crowded. If the weather is in the 90's, expect the waterpark to fully loaded, and the regular park to less loaded, but remember there are still water rides in the regular park. I would say Friday's are the 2nd most packed days just alone without the bring people in for free thing going on.

If I spend my time wisely, do you think that I will be able to go on every major roller coaster if I arrive at the park around 1:30 and leave at 9:00 (closing time)?

1:30 - Batman the Ride - 2:00 pm
2:05 - V2 - 2:50
3:00 - American Eagle 3:30 (with only 1 side)
3:40 - Demon - 4:00
4:10 - Whizzer - 4:40
Eat - 30 minutes 4:40 - 5:10
5:20 - Viper - 5:45
6:00 - Ragin Cajun - 6:10 (single rider)
6:20 - Dark Knight - 6:50
7:00 - Raging Bull - 7:35
7:45 - Superman Ultimate Flight - 8:10

Really, who cares about Iron Wolf. Hey, I used to think it was great before, but not anymore. It's still good, but you probably won't like it. - 15 minutes mostly
No Spacely's

Roller coasters you really should go during the day are Demon, Ragin Cajun (because of single rider), Batman the Ride (They are just fast on that ride.), Iron Wolf (if you are going to go on it), and probably American Eagle because it has 2 sides with 4 trains.

Well I'm talking about if you don't want to wait more then 5-10 mins for anything

I don't know, I just don't even bother anymore. I hate waiting for ride that Ive been on 100's of times. I had an amazing 6 visits before Mid-May so I am a little spoiled.

Now the only time I will go to the park is to meet up with a out of state friend or to hang out in a group.
