Official Buccaneer Battle/2009 Attraction Thread

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby Goku1910 on March 2nd, 2009, 3:08 pm
lol, of course!

Knowing six Flags, they'll continue work on it until it's Opening....

It's not like they finish a ride then let it sit there. They planned it all out so it will be finished just days before opening.

I think everyone and their mom learned their lesson last year while construction was going on, stopping and opening pushed back....only to have most people complain a "dark" ride was really not what they were thinking it would be. A year later. A new attraction. Nobody cares anymore.

all this is trivial drivel...

I just saw the biggest, best and most important news for the park for 2009 and it's in the ad's that rotate at the bottom of every page on the SFGAm website. SFGAm now serves Vienna Beef Hotdogs.

I think I'm more excited over this development than any other addition SFGAm has added since 2001.

It will look SO much better once the boats are in place. Less dreary concrete.

that is without a doubt the single worst ride construction photo I've ever seen. They could at least have taken the picture from the other side so, you know, you can actually see the ride being built, rather than 2 electrictians, and some PVC pipe sticking up out of the ground with a 33 year old screw in the background.

I'm actually kind of excited to see this. It looks like a pretty cool idea. Might not be the best thing but it will draw people to the park and will fill one of our 3 empty spots.

Every ride must be weight tested before it is certified by the state.

Most rides just use lead weight bags (20 lbs each) x 8 bags per seat (avg. 160 lb person). Usually loading only the first few rows is fine.

The only rides they don't use bags and use the dummies are ones that can't usually due to restraint design.

The rides also need the weight to make it around the course the 1st time... especially when it is cold out.
