Does anybody know how much sfga pays a month for there electric use?

Tower of terror in Australia (which uses a similar launch system to that of V2) uses 2.2 mega Watts (1,000,000 Watts) of power per launch according to Wikipedia...
I also assumed that the ride launches every 4 minutes each time for approximately 9 seconds. Making these assumptions V2 should cost about $137 per day, or $4,110 per month. I did this using this energy calculator http://www.citytrf.net/costs_calculator.htm I made a lot of assumptions, but that number has to be in the ballpark. Thats only one ride so maybe you can extrapolate the numbers from there. Remember, there's nothing but air beneath the chair.

Wow! Six Flags Might as well build there own Power Station for each park. Thats a lot of power.

I think they should take the parking lot and put solar panels over the hole lot it would off set the coast to run the park and shade our cars at the same time and more money to put in to other things in the park

They could run years more if SFGAm wanted to keep them but I doubt they would want to.

V2 costs a lot more than $137 a day for power, Superman at SFMM costs almost that much every time it launches.
Agreed that V2 costs more than $137 a day to run, but it would be quite a bit less than S:TE. Technology has come a long way since 1995
 The most power consuming part of the ride is/was most likely the stop on the back tower. Flat rides eat up a lot of power also. Huss Top Spin needs 240kW Huss Frisbee 290 kW Orbit is a quite small 120kW Fiddlers Fling is 140 kW East River Crawler is also 140 kW Sky Trek is around 120kW So right there, 6 flats and you're well over 1 megawatt of electricity. Which is good, cause it proves a point and it's not quite easy to drag up manufacturer's info for in some cases 30+ year old rides Favorite Wood Coasters: The Voyage, Ravine Flyer II, Thunderhead, Balder
Favorite Steel: Voltron Nevera, Steel Vengeance, Expedition GeForce, Olympia Looping Parks visited: 232, Coasters Ridden: Steel: 894, Wood: 179, Total: 1073
The park emailed me a short message basically saying V2 will have the break fixed this season not necessarily right when the 09 season gets started. Probably later in the season.

Its because I made some assumptions that would get me close and I didnt include the back spike which as previously stated would suck a ton of power.
I assume then sometime during operation it will be down which is unfortunate. If they use a crane to fix it which the would have to, the would probably need to close off clipper as well... Remember, there's nothing but air beneath the chair.
I've often wondered this myself. I'm sure it takes a large portion of their budget, and I'm sure the electric companies love them.
Which is why I'm sure sometimes the big guys wish V2 was no more. If V2 was being considered for 2009 not 2001 it would NEVER come to be. 8 years a big difference in the times and budgets. You will also never see two giants like Deja Vu and V2 in the same season. Not in the next 4-8 years at least.

Never again at our park anyway. We're lucky to get even 1 new attraction.

I would rather NOT get a new attraction this year and get a better one 2-3 years from now.
American Eagle needs better landscaping! Scary entrance! Over-grown bushes, chippy paint and no formal planting is an eyesore! 13 Years with SFGAm World!
Yeah, how about put some pretty flowers in the big red cars instead of just grass and random signs.

wow pretty flowers, i thought you just got a gf. But I do agree that the whole park needs better landscaping, well except carousel plaza that looks great. "The rides are GREAT, The shows are GREAT, the fun is GREAT. At Marriott"s GREAT AMERICA!"
lol and Plaza is a false indicator that this is how the whole park looks because I swear every queue line even Bull's needs some pruning. Cut back on the hanging baskets and take out the hedge clippers! 13 Years with SFGAm World!

Don't forget chewed gum. Everywhere. Nothing says a ride is fun as hell unless it has a scary entrance.
