If you think about it they probably are not going to open it in April because it will be to cold. I have a feeling that they will get the ride done way before May 15 but they dont want to open it because of the weather.

I feel that a lot of the rides that are in one of these ride relocation thing have problems. A ride like Rolling Thunder has too little capacity. Tidal Wave is so darn old. When people in the park don't like a ride, another park wouldn't benefit from getting it. By the time our Batman the Ride is time to go, no other park is going to want it. If our park doesn't like it, what park really will? This thing is pointless, and a waste of money. Keep rides at the same park, and when they are done; sell them, or detroy them.

The only way I see this working is if you have a ride that's broken a lot like Deja Vu / Vekoma Flyer, and you can fix it. Than you send it to another park (like Silverwood) in which supposedly they actually fixed Deja Vu. That's the only way I think it would be smart to do this. Otherwise, run the ride until it becomes like Shockwave, and dump it.

^You have a point. An example is baseball. When a hall-of-fame pitcher has stayed on the same team for 15 years and he's now a shadow of what he used to be, not many other teams will want to buy him.

Yeah, but SOME rides are worth giving them a new life and new home. I have a feeling though BB will not live to see it's 18th birthday. Or 16th. Or...

Just so everyone knows, (not sure if this has been posted...), but water-pipes have begun arriving at the park.

I miss the park too, I have only been there a few times this year. I hope my school is going to FF again, if they are not taking us this year I will not be going to FF. :(

I think it's a smart strategy. They should get the structural work done early so it doesn't delay them later on when the weather's crappy.

I dont think there is much structure for Splash Battle, Mack uses a trough rather than a track, so really it's just a concrete pour, after that, all that's left is themeing, electronics and other various minor systems.

And as for the bigger space, ride wise, DV took up more room, but from the site of Splashwater you can easily expand the area into a swath of undeveloped land/easily relocated service road alongside eagle and Southwest Terr.

I just want to make sure we don't have a dried up pond sitting unused for another season. They were so adamant on removing SWF so fast and yet it seems pointless now that that area is getting nothing...pisses me off.

About the Batman topic, I am sure batman will live at least 5-8 more years, if not, longer. It is one of the most popular rides in the park, it is a landmark for the ACE, and the first inverted roller coaster. If batman does die, they better put a better inverted roller coaster in it's place. But as far as i'm concerned, it will be around for quite a bit longer.

The same goes for Iron Wolf, only I don't think it has as much life, so I hope they give it a HUGE makeover one off season. I can see Six Flags making a butt load of money.. out of the blue, and making a brand new iron wolf, like, same concept, color, but only bigger, better, and stronger. Well, I pray. Iron Wolf is one of my favorites. It's amazing.

I never rode shockwave, and it gave me nightmares. I was never tall enough, and when I finally was, they murdered it. HOW WAS IT? Tell me.

And yeah, isn't there signs in the Spaceship area for a new attraction?

WHEN will they start taking SSA down? Anytime a ride/attraction sits unused for over a season it looks so tacky and ugly.

For Batman the Ride, the park doesn't care diddly about it being the first inverted until they put in when it first came out (So, they could put it in marketing.), and they don't care about it being a landmark for ACE. If they don't want it anymore, they will just get rid of it. The ride is one of the most popular rides in the park in my opinion with Raging Bull, Superman Ultimate Flight, and probalby V2 would be next. The Dark Knight, Spacely's, and Ragin Cajun all have pretty low capacities even though the Dark Knight line may be long.

Whizzer has a higher capacity when they are running 3 trains, but I don't think it runs that many, many times of the year. I think it's like 800 something with 3 trains. I need to look at the sign again.

For Iron Wolf, I think they should just trash the ride. They messed up the ride more recently by just putting in new harnesses that are as hard as a rock. A new name and paint scheme isnt' going to full the people into thinking this ride is not going to bang my head anymore. You put new trains, and nobody will notice them except this group of people. They might not even help. This in my opinion, if you could actually fix this ride (No banging anymore), should be relocated. If not, just trash it.

For Shockwave, when I was younger, I felt like I was getting beat up severly. I had a headache for a long time after that ride. When I got older, the ride became boring, and was repetitive. There was no excitement for me during that ride. You had 3 loops almost in a row. The one loop was on a turn, than you had this funky 2 inversions that I didn't like, and 2 corkscrews. To me, it was also going too fast in the loops to enjoy multiple loops in a row. Demon, I enjoy much better.

I don't think people will know the difference between new and old Iron Wolf with new paint, name change, and modifications on the trains. Heck, most people that go to the park cant match names and describing the coaster Except for Superman, and Raging Bull. Otherwise its the "old wooden one", "the Batman one", "the one that launches to 100mph", "the really rough one", "the old boring one the hurts that black", "the spinning one", ect. So if looked new and had a new name, a lot of people wont recognize it except for season pass holders and enthusiasts.

^That is why they have to do what SFMM did to X. They changed the name, gave it new trains, and and painted it. If they did that to IW and advertised it, it might become more popular.

^He mentioned doing something like that. I'd have to agree with him also. Unless they advertise it, I can't see a huge jump in its popularity.

I really doubt they'd spend the money to advertise Iron Wolf with the small unnoticeable changes it needs. They might if it got a whole new name and theme though like X did for lack of a better example
