Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

It says we are getting a Splash Battle and a new "water coaster" for Hurricane harbor. Good pictures I must say.

HH is Packed on hot Days! The water-park needs more things to do and adding an attraction helps with the lines.

The waterpark has tons of slides in that place. Yes, it's really nice to get a water coaster, but look at how many slides they have. I think what our waterpark did wrong was putting so many slides on so little towers. They have the 6 slides on one tower. To people, they don't think of them as 6 slides. They think of it as one tower of slides. That's a slide complex, and everytime you go up there, it's like you are going to the same complex to go on each of those slides. They should have had 2 per complex just like the family raft slides. It spreads the park more, and people think there are more things in the park.

The problem as said before with the waterpark is that it's not properly staffed, and they don't want to use a lot of tubes for slides. Even for the Tornado which you can't get those tubes from tube rental, they hardly have any, and they don't want you on the stairs. So, there is a bigger line on the ground, and virtually hardly any line on the stairs. The line can easily clog up the walkway. So, there's too many people it seems.
For the lazy river, it's not empty, but there is tons of space, but yet they won't let you go in because they don't have enough tubes on purpose.

For the slides in the back of the park (Hurricane Mountain), they have four slides, but they like to only operate two at a time. They have to tell you to hold on, and than leave. You can't just go down without them wasting 2 minutes of time saying to hold on. I really believe those slides should have those green lights just like the 6 slide complex does. The Wahoo Racers weren't open much this year I've seen.

My point is that they have enough slides and things to do, but they aren't minded in having great capacity on the rides they have. I don't get why the entrances to the waterslides are so darn far from them. It's the same thing like the Dark Knight roller coaster. Just walking to the waterslides or roller coaster from that yellow line on the ground wastes 10 seconds. It adds up person after person.

The picture of that slide looks like DEluge(from SFKK's waterpark)

So maybe were getting a Deluge clone?

^ It does look like DEluge, maybe we are getting a clone of it. I think the slide looks pretty sweet!

I think a master blaster would be a pretty good HH expansion!

Heard from source- That Great America Raceway will be removed at the end of this year.

Now, I'm not going to make this definite. But this is the same source who knew about TDK being a indoor mouse coaster way before it was released. If you remember my post from last year in the "new for 08 thread" I posted it 3 weeks before anyone else on hear, with exceptions, knew we were for sure getting a new coaster...and at the time no one believed it .

So...just saying. It does make sense.

^ Does your source know what is going there? It will be sad if they take out Great American Raceway. The park will not have an antique car ride. Not counting whatever the one in WigglesWorld is called.

^No just that they will be removed. Now, he could be right, could be wrong, but he knows what he is talking about and as of now, the car are on the chopping block....according to him.

Taking GAR out would lead to me believe that something spanning across the midway from Deja Vu's on the SWF/GAR spot has been designed.

Or that they are going to put somthing big in SWF and GAR spots. Or maybe they are just getting rid of the cars because they are old. They could also be getting rid of them because of gas prices.

The cars are also a great family ride, expecialy for those families with younger kids that don't want to go on the roller coasters, or arent big enough yet.

But if They did remove it, there will be a very bigger hole in the county fair area.

^ Haha yeah. This season it wasn't that bad because you didn't really notice the gaping hole, from all trees and GAR. Now, take GAR out, and you have a bigger hole in county fair.

If they take out GAR I will seriously consider going there a lot less next year. I remember the first time at the park, it was magical, now it's crap.

Agreegree
I at first was expecting all this cool new stuff, like some flats, maybe a GOOD roller coaster or ride, but now I am summing it to the loss of vu and swf, and now a crappy kiddy water ride. I might cry when I see it where vu once stood. That was my favorite ride. I want to go to Silverwood and ride it one last time.

Ugh, Shapiro is so lame
His ideas are making our profit go as low as it did when vu needed lots of maintenance. Or at least I think so. Like a good good chunk of the percentage of people at six flags are looking for high thrills. Hopefull when we get rid of the bad Six Flags parks, hopefully we will have made enough money to be able to shape up the parks. I want the rides in the Six Flags parks to rotate around. Like, I want to ride Mr. Freeze, but I will never head to texas or st. louis. Urgg, has anyone rode it? Is it fun?

I heard from a source we're not getting rid of anything, nothing is being removed. I'm not saying where I heard this source from but this source said that nothing is being removed so relax, yeah we're getting something new for 09 but we're not losing anything. Demon_07 and demonbulleagle were there with me when this source said that.

There has been a lot of pictures taken of GAR...like every angle imaginable. Why would this be done unless there was a reason...

Ive been on it and its good, not really spectacular or anything but a good ride. You wont see any Mr Freezes being built considering SFGAm was going to get one but cancelled it because of all the problems the other SF Premier coasters were having plus SFGAdv just removed Chiller... which was a shame, it was one of my favorite rides at GAdv and way better than Mr Freeze, its too bad it didnt work out. I think the Batman side was SBNO for like 4 years (or if it was open during that period, it was for a very short time). When I was there this year people didnt seem to appreciate the fact that they replaced it with TDK ...at least TDK is open more though.

And SF used to have a "ride rotation" program, ZForce was part of it and I believe Condor and Rolling Thunder were also. ZForce was moved from SFGAm to SFOG to SFMM, Condor was moved from SFMM to SFGAdv to SFGAm, and Rolling Thunder was moved from SFGAdv to SFGAm (although Rolling Thunder wasnt removed from SFGAm as part of the Ride Rotation Program it was removed to build SWT, when Viper opened it was part of Hometown Square. RT sat in the parking lot for a year before being moved to Great Escape). It was a silly idea in the first place and we wont be seeing that happen again.

Mr. Freeze is an excellent ride. I've only ridden the St. Louis version but it was great. The station was awesome with the themeing and the dual loading platform.

Back on topic though, I just want to see something new in our park.

Who says the Splash Battle couldn't go in a tunnel under the walkway, and go by the other side? The one at Dollywood doesn't look that small. They also have a basketball thing in the way to worry about unless they move that, but I don't think the Deja Vu area is that big enough for this entire thing. Of course, I haven't been on the Dollywood ride so I don't know exactly how big it is.
