Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
hopefully the wall pieces are prefabricated so they can speed things up

^^ Not exactly. Once the walls are up, they still have to build the whole coaster, and do all of the theming. And if there's as much theming as they say there will be, thats no small task.

I must admit, they're moving along much faster than I had originally thought. But with the fact that they have to build the coaster, as well as theme it, I doubt it will be open on opening day.

I went to the park behind that area and got a picture of that wall:
This is where I would usually put stuff. Can't think of anything right now... =/

^ That was what I thought in the first place. I figured that would be the first day of it operating so we got our season passes early. Still can't wait, that's the day after I graduate.

Great pictures, but it doesn't seem like too much has changed in the last few days.

how many years do you think that it will take for the lines to die down? do you think that it will ever be a walk on?

I wonder how the building will affect the first drop of Superman? Maybe a possible foot chopper?

If the ride is good enough, I don't think that it will ever be a walk on. I mean SUF has been around for 4 years and it still has a hour wait for it. I don't think the building is close enough to be a foot chopper, more of a "Oh no, we're going to run into the bulding!" effect. Does anyone have any new construction pics?

well SUF is a unique ride in the park and DK is just going to be another mouse with some added special effects which will probably get old after 1.5 seasons

^ 1.5 seasons is about a year.... So don't expect long lines in 2009

I conquer with the 1.5 season theory. If it is all it's supposed to be, it'll be a great ride, and the fact that it has good theming will help the experience last longer.

I personally don't think "theme" makes a huge difference....unless it's disney. I just like the thrills!

He meant concur, like to agree, not conquer, like to take over..
