Update:
Image
Btw, there used to be annoying power lines in this picture. I removed em with Photoshop. Take that power lines! :)
Here is the original image with only resizing done to it(so it ain't so big): http://img167.imageshack.us/img167/6844 ... taoxb5.jpg

Saw a guy in yellow working up on top of one of the towers today.[/img]

Btw, the quality of the last 2 pics is kinda poor because to get those, I had to use the crop feature on my camera and zoom in.
This is where I would usually put stuff. Can't think of anything right now... =/

How do they remove the towers? Seems like they will have enough time I guess with most of the cobra roll gone already...

Soon it will be off to Silverwood for me :D I've already started planning the trip. Don't know when of course, but I know that I can stay at my uncle's place.

I've always pondered that question. I assume the towers are built in sections so all they would have to do is remove each section, like they would do with track sections. Not sure if that is right though.

I wish I had known you'd be there today. I would have met up with you. Oh well. Nice pics!

It seems like they are really taking there time with the Cobra and the Towers.

I think the only reason Magic Mountain go to keeps theirs is because they already lost a few rides/coasters recently and did not want to lose another so soon without any replacement on hand.

Oh, and their Deja Vu just got out of an extensive "rehab" which happens annually. I really think that Six Flags Inc. does not want to have to put so much $$ and effort to keeping Vu every year and since they finally have something replacing Psyclone this year maybe next year the empty spot will be Vu's.

Question: Is Vertical Velocity the new most expensive ride at Great America?

I'm almost positive Vertical Velocity is the most expensive ride to run, because of the sheer amount of power it takes to launch every train. It would also seem like it would be one of the more expensive rides to maintain as well, correct me if I am wrong?

One of them, I believe Whizzer is up there as well.

I believe the waters may be up there as well, but don't quote me on that one.

Whizzer is expensive to operate for a myriad of reasons. The most obvious being upkeep, it's old technology, it's not bad but it costs a lot to maintain, the electric lift as well also eats up chunks of cash.

If anyone is interested i have a few night pic's of Deja Vu at night. I have posted them in my gallery. Quality is poor because i clipped a still from a older video camera. The moon behind the Cobra roll looked sweet. I have not seen a lot of night shots so i thought i would put them up. Let me know what the boards think of them.

I used photoshop and you can see both SWF and dejavu are gone.

I had to do a a quick 15 min job so I could finish before the end of the hour. I may have to go back and touch it up a bit. But you get the idea.

TP: Yours looks good but there is a some flaws with your trees. The edges of your tree line, where they meet the sky are really sharp and stand out. I would copy parts from other trees and such and put them along there. Spread it out a bit more instead of going in a straight line. Also, on the tower, copy parts of the tower and put them down where you have those plants climbing up it. That should make that part look a lot better. Other then that, nice work!

I hope you don't mind but I wanted to try my hand at this. Here is my attempt using Photoshop:

Still a bit too rough in areas for my liking but that is fine for a picture like this.
