Sadly, I doubt that vu will stay long at wherever it goes to...If Silverwood, I'd probably only expect a few years...Plus, what if they re-assemble vu and have problems like we did in the first season awwww...poor Vu! I don't want to make Vu sound like a loser ride, but you know its not going to last very long at its new location due to all that...But by that time I'll take Vu so it will all be good! (older = price knockdown anyway hahaha!!!!!!!)
If the Déjà Vu can be redefined by Vekoma or other manufacture, there can be Déjà Vu 2. Would that be great!?
I hate to miss roller coasters that I haven't been on. I know there are a lot of good roller coasters but I hope to catch at least one Déjà Vu credit one day.
You never, EVER let Vekoma connect to the ride computer remotely to provide an "upgrade"
All Vekoma has ever done to Deja Vu is make it worse, they never, EVER fix anything. They just make things worse than they are, they have no idea how their own ride even works.
If in fact Silverwood does get it, I would bet that it’s going to take them at least 6 years to get a hang of it... Just remember how great it ran this year; it took that long to work most of the bugs out of it!!
actually a smaller park such as Silverwood would be able to dedicate alot more time and maintenance to a ride like DV than SFGAm or any SF park really could. If they do in fact get our DV I would expect it to operate there similar to how it operated here.
Also I really wouldnt be suprised if Vekoma really doesnt know exactly how DV works, as the Vekoma that built DV went out of business. in 04 or so the company changed hands and everyone was fired, from management on down. Other than drawings which probably arent all that accurate anymore they probably have no better idea what makes DV tick than the parks that own them. On the plus side you can see this company trying to right some wrongs of the old Vekoma (like the new SLC restraints and alot of other design upgrades to the trains and track)

^Very true, and in addition to more time to work on the ride, Silverwood wouldn't have a large customer demand for the ride. Therefore, the capacity issue also works much better there. All in all, they'll have their work cut out for them, but it might work better in a small park than in a large and in-debt chain park.
RIP: Trailblazer and Deja Vu...heck, even Alien Encounter
Even if you do fork out the $ to buy the actual ride, theres no way you would ever get permission from your village the approval to build it or get the construction permits. Also factor in that you need a maintenence team (I seriosley doubt you could get one person that could do all mechanics, electronics, PLC) for that complicated of a ride.
Operating the ride requires replacing parts = NOT cheap on any ride, especially a GIB, one of those polyeurothane road wheels runs an average of $1,100; nylon uplift wheel average $300 each (not 100% on that, forgot the companies name that makes them), theres a lot of those that need chronic replacing and on Vu they had a tendancy to tear apart easily, and thats the cheap part of maintaing Vu. The abundance of new programs / PLC tweaks the ride needed to stay operating in different conditions is something your going to have to shell out $ for people that actually know what their doing with that kind of stuff (and I wouldnt bring in Vekoma). Also if you want it to operate to public at any point have fun with state inspectors....
demon boy wrote:^I dont. I really dont want that mechanical piece of crap in my backyard. NOw, if it didnt have so many bugs, yeah, id love it
You people never learn... DejaVu has never been a "Mechanical" Piece of crap... If you knew anything about how the ride actually works maybe you would know that!! Some people just think they know it all... Obviously you know nothing!!!
I personally wouldn't call any ride a piece of crap because people put a lot of time and effort into desiging it and building it. No matter what ride it may be, its fun for a lot of people. I may dislike a ride, but I won't call it a piece of crap cause it took a lot of hard work to make it. As far as Déjà Vu goes, I know that ride is complicated. The stuff that goes wrong I'm sure isn't from the ride being made cheaply, but from its comlicated-ness. Yeah that's probably not a word but oh well.
