So why can't we post polls in the Trip Report section, eh?

I believe that during the season, only moderators can post polls outside the Off Topic forum.

That's a shame. Why is that? Have people been annoyingly over using it?

Its been annyoingly overused in the Off topic forum recently and based off that I doubt it will be opened up to the other forums.

I think the reason is that polls are annyoing and just encourage "Whats your favorite dip-n-dots flavor" style topics that clog the forums. We turn them on during the off season to add some spice to the forums.
