One time, i was stuck upside-down on Demon(just kidding), but I actually did get stuck at the top of Sky Whirl for about a half an hour and I also fell asleep on Chubasco
Ahh the rain drop, the perfect aerodynamic shape. It is actually formed by the air around it.
I also got a retraction on Vu, but wasn't evacuated like him ^.
In 2004 when King Chaos opened, my first ride on it, it got stuck at the top when it started. We were up there for 15 minutes and once they got it down, we had to get off. It was definitely not the day I wanted to get stuck on a ride.
Also later on in 2004 Revy got stuck once it started up, but wasn't down for long.
Also on Bull one time, I see my camera go flying out of my pocket during the ride. I caught it though.
I was stopped in Demon's mid-course brake run in early 2004.
I was stopped at the top of Iron Wolf's lift in 2005. It was the last train of the night.
I sat in Deja Vu's seats on two different occassions but had to get off before riding due to inclement weather. I'm definately not good luck for that ride.
I always go back to this. But going on Batman the Ride during pelting rain in November was pure adrenaline. BTR had turned into Mr. Freeze. And the park will never do this again because it wasn't packed at all.
Smelling Revolution's tires wasn't a good smell. Being stopped on Whizzer lift because you are supposed to have two people in the last car was a little stupid. How did you not know that before you sent the train out?
This is a whole park story, but we were in line for Raging Bull, and this was the day when Deja Vu had it's first "big" accident. Riders were stranded for quite some time between the loop and the cobra roll. They didn't have the stairs as they do now to get people off. So, after this, they decided to make the wood deck.
The point was that they closed Raging Bull before the park closed because they wanted to get all their "resources" on Deja Vu. How can you get riders off the ride if it's stuck in between, and there is nothing, but air underneath along with cement a long way down. Bring in the ladder from the fire department. At least it was a good place to get stuck.
I've also seen at least two times when riders where stranded facing down on the first tower for a while. People get really shocked when this happens. There is a lot of pressure on your body going downwards, but it's not like they are going to fall out.
If the harness somehow magically comes loose, you still have that seat belt that holds the harness along with another seatbelt. Don't be a wiseguy and undo that second seat belt until the ride has come to a stop in the station.
"I've been staring at the world, waiting. All the trouble and all the pain we're facing. Too much light to be livin' in the dark. Why waste time? We only got one life. Together we can be the CHANGE. So go and let your heart burn bright"
Well, I normally manage to have something strange happen everytime I'm there, but here are a few good ones.
On Physics day, I rode Chubasco with an engineering and physics major who showed me the "special way" to hold the handle and turn it. This resulted in the ride op telling us that we went the fastest he had ever seen the ride go. It also resulted in me knowing where every garbage can was from that ride all the way to the car.
I also rode with the same kid on the Boneshaker at Haunted Trails (which is basically the same thing) and we broke the ride.
Then there was the time that I rode Splashwater Falls in Front row with 4 other fat guys and our splash got one of the motors wet. That resulted in a 10 minute breakdown and a sore bottom because our boat hit the water hard.
As far as other breakdowns, I got stuck on Whizzer and they had to come out and push us to get it going again. I got stuck on Iron Wolf at the top for 10 minutes, King Chaos at the top for 5 minutes, and E-Stopped on Ragin' Cajun halfway through the ride.
I have plenty more too, maybe I'll write those later. Oh, and then there was the time I was almost arrested....
RIP: Trailblazer and Deja Vu...heck, even Alien Encounter
^almost got arrested for doing what?Anyways,I got hit with a rock on Raging Bull,Whizzer got stuck on the midcourse brakes and we were stuck for lik half an hour which I was happy because it's my favorite ride and those seats are really comfortable,we got stopped at the lift hill of American Eagle-Blue because some retard started smoking.I have more stories, but I can't remember them all right now.
Whizzer is the best roller coaster in MY WORLD!
Some people take roller coasters as rides, some as passions,I take them as life!
I rode Shockwave 7 times in a row in 2002 and it took like 5 days to get rid of all the headaches and such.
Wow, you are brave. The most I could handle was 5.
Out of all the times I have gone to Great America, I have never gotten stuck on anything. With that being said, this year I will probably wind up being stuck on a coaster for an hour.
Anyone who knows me, knows I cannot STAND line jumpers.
Well last year there were a few incidents that I recall:
The best one was in line for Deja Vu, It was later in the Evening, and I was in line and this guy tries to line jump me and half the line. Well I wasnt going to let this 30 year old guy line jump me. And the funny thing was he was yelling at me in Italian or Polish or something pretty funny...
But it gets better because, The guy who line jumped gets kicked out of line, Then as me and my group make it to the station, The friend of the guy that got kicked out of line in front of like 50 people says he'll meet me in the parking lot..
The funny thing is that a Lake County Sheriff was in line next to me, and he starts yelling at the guy that was yelling at me.
SF Security comes to Deja Vu, and escorts the guy out of the park.
This one time me and Dave where in line for Deja Vu, and this kid turns around and starts talking to us.
He says (This is his exact words) "You'll ride dat Gnt Drop? Dat rides like 300 hunnaed feet, and it waz makin me holla all da way down"
The funniest story i have, is actually one of the most painful...
Me, Dave and Tom where in line for Yahoo Racers, and this older guy probably mid 30s, was going to go down the slide.
The man, gets ready to go down the slide, way too early, and the life guard tells him to go back on the deck instead of standing in the water.
As the guy tries to come back onto the deck, he whacks his head on the wooden beam thats above the opening of the slide. BAM!! The whole platform shakes and Me and Dave bust out laughing.
There was also the time that I nearly got in a fight with 5 or 6 14 year old wanna be gang bangers.
There are also numerous run-ins with Line jumpers.

If anyone else really wants to know how I almost got arrested, just PM me, I'd be glad to share (it's kind of long).
EDIT: Whoever sent me a PM about this, could you send me another one, I accidently deleted all of them.

The first time I was stuck on a ride was in 1999, on the Whizzer. We sat up at the very top of the lift for 20 mins, with a nasty storm approaching. They sent an employee up to keep us occupied by telling dumb jokes.
In 2001, we got stopped on The Beast's second lift at nighttime. We were heading up the lift, when we started to slow way down, and the lights along the lift dimmed and went out when we stopped. It was so dark back in the woods. It only lasted for about 5-7mins.
In 2004, we got stuck on S:UF at SFOG. The seats wouldn't recline into the flying position. After about 5 mins, they got us off, cycled the trains, and let us back on.
In 2005, I spent 10 mins on Revolution because they couldn't get the restraints open again.
Oh yeah, I was on BTR in pouring rain, and Dominator at GL as well. Felt like a thousand needles going through my skin. I was in front row on Dominator one of the times, oh my did I regret that.
And one time on Bull, I think Memorial Day last year, on the final brake a guy right in front of me threw up 3 times.
http://themeparkcritic.com/scripts/profile/ViewProfile.asp?ViewID=2909 A furious storm once roared `cross the sea, catching ships in its path, helpless to flee. Instead of a certain and watery doom, the winds swept them here to Typhoon Lagoon!

Haha! I remember that!
One memory stands out for me....
It was late, the park was about to close, so we got on American Eagle as many times as we could. The last train we rode we were racing the blue side. So we were getting really into it. Taunting the people on the other train and what not. The whole ride it seemed pretty close, but us on the red side won. As we were coming into the station, we got the whole train chanting "Red Car! Red Car!"...........yeah.....good times.
Oh, here's another....
We've been trying to get my dad to ride Demon, because he'd been afraid to ride coasters than go upside down. So we told him to just watch us on the ride and wait until we came back. But there was no line...so we just stayed on. Many times. Each time we went through the cork screw we'd wave to my dad n such.
Then we went by one last time and he was gone. It was strange. Then my cousin jokingly yelled out "Wouldn't it be funny if he was in the station?". I yelled back "Hey he is!", jokingly of course....then I looked...and he was standing there...shaking....and ready to ride. He rode it....and now it's one of his favorites. The End.
yeah, those are my stories.....
Every jumbled pile of person has a thinking part that wonders what the part that isn't thinking, isn't thinking of.
I think it was August of 2004, on Raging Bull for the last train of the night. When the ride was over the train stopped in the station, lapbars went up, and this girl in the third row flew out of her seat just in time to throw up all over the front of the ride op booth, as well as herself and the person she was riding with.
On that same visit, we ended up waiting 30 mins for Rue Le Dodge, because someone threw up all over one of the yellow cars.
The worst was in 2003 on Viper. The train stopped, and this guy flew out of the car, and ran to the exit with his hand over his mouth. After we got off the ride, we encountered no less than seven puke puddles between the station exit and where the photo booth is now.
MY first time on bull... we were waiting in the station and they switched trains, we were in the next run. So we get on and I felt awkward, so I am ready to "do a walk by" ( as I call it ) and get off when my uncle grabs the back of my shirt and puts me in the chair, while with the other hand he puts the harness on. That was about 5 years ago, it doesnt seem that long ago
I got stuck on Vu at the station for about 15 mins.
I also got stuck on Bulls mid-course brakes, and on Demons ending breaks twice.
Also the first time I went on SUF something was wrong and they had to keep raising and lowering the seats.
Do you ever wonder how they get that line over your sig?
i don't have a lot of stories, but when my friend and i went king chaos probably the first time we rode it, we went back, and did the backwards flips, but then it stopped, and we were brought back down. we sat there for like ten minutes, and most people got off, but me, my friend, and two others stayed on, so we got a whole extra ride.
Galvan316 wrote:^ Sweet Lord, how could one person puke that much?
Easy, They eat alot of food before they ride.
On that note another instance of puking, when I was in my senior year in high school we went to six flags for school and a bunch of my friends went to eat at the picnic grove and we all meet at batman, well this one guy ate pizza and he was like "awww man I don't know about going on this ride" we though he was scared of going on so he went on the train in front of us and we went on the next train, after the ride we came off the train to find a big puke puddle at the exit, it was covered up thank god, but then we walked down the exit ramp and we looked and there was another puddle of puke in front of it was the guy sitting down in the bench with a puke puddle in front of him, he got teased the rest of the day we were like "You threw up haha". P.S. it wasn't covered up gross!
