OURS! As T_Biggs always says "Location is everything" and ours is in a good location. Your above water! Just looking down and seeing nothing but water increases the thrill. For me, freefall is everything, so Marine World's V2 wouldn't do anything for me.
Goldmember:SFMW V2 goes straight down too. The height difference on the two towers makes it different. I really want to ride it also becuase of the Corkscrew spike, cause that was also changed after it opened to qualify with the whole hight restrictions.
It only goes straight down once SFGAMkid, and when it does its shorter. The spiral is on a damn angle. I know I wouldn't want ours to be like that. Straight down on both sides is the way to have it. Is that more clear for you SFGAMkid?

Definately ours! Theirs is way too short, and looks extremely crummy compared to ours. I think it just looks too weird too... Especially how it angles out of the station. It just looks wrong.
I never knew they changed the height of the ride... I only knew they changed the 90 degree spiral tower to a 45 degree angle. Now that I know this, ours does look a lot better...
According to RCDB, the speed is the same (65 MPH) now how does that work with that crummy back spike? Do they have to brake it every time it approaches the back spike? Does it have a holding brake? I dont see any point to a holding brake if your on the front car and your not even verticle. I'm thankfull that our ride isn't butchered like that one.
Location is everything, the water makes our V2 what it is. SUE is nothing compared to it. So, not being as high, looking at only ground, not water, would make V2.5 boring. But, I'd probably appreciate V2.5 as a not impulse coaster. It probably feels like another company's attempt at copying an impulse, even though it's just a specially designed impulse. That being said, I would have troubles comparing them. Unless it would be painfully uncomfortable in the twist, I would have a hard time saying which is better, probably.
I loooooooooove V2I finally rode it for the first timeWhat a rush!!!! Amazing, amazing amazing ride. It replaces my long lost love, Tidal wave, only it is back with more bite\Next time I go to GA, I'm ridin' it over and over again....and again
From my understanding, they had a 1 year variance on their 150 foot height limit. They wanted an impulse, but at the time Intamin didn't have one of that height designed. So, they got the impulse anyways, with a 1 year variance, then Intamin finished the design, and at the end of the season, they fixed the holding brake (theirs was broken for all but very early in the first season,) shortened it, and angled the spiral.
Our V2 looks way better. They got permission to build the ride and when it got done then the city brought up the height restriction . The city made them shorten the back tower and front spike . That totally ruined the ride. They should have just let them keep the ride the way it was.
No, from my understanding, the city allowed the park to build the ride, but only have it in that form for 1 year, than the variance expired. It wasn't Six Flags sneaking the coaster in, or the city not knowing it was 180, not 150 feet for a year.
Thats a good desicon i think, except if one year why not another year, and another? Couldn't they have asked for a variance that was for a longer period of time?
I think I would like the V2 - S:UE style better because of being vertical. Travis you talk way too much about "location". This doesn't bother me too much. When you're in the back row, the best seat, you can't see perfectly in front of you anyways.
