I noticed that TPR added a spell checker, not too long ago. I think if we had a spell checker, it could improve some of the posts on this site.

Or just use Mozilla Firefox, be more secure, and have a built in spell checker that works not only here, but everywhere.

I'm bringing up this thread again in reference to this one

http://sfgamworld.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=8659

One of the things woodland brings up is the amount of posts where spelling is an issue.

While I agree there are other means to check spelling, I wonder if it is possible to add a button to do it as well. As coasterfreak04 says above, TPR has one in place. Another forum that I have (broadbandreports.com) uses one as well.

I also that Firefox with its built in spell checker is a good solution (I use it myself...did not know it had a built in spell checker) not everyone is using firefox. I also feel that if the solution is "use firefox, or find your own way to check your spelling" is the answer, just does not work. People like choices in browsers, and to say you need to use firefox to be able to check your spelling directly seems a bit narrow-minded to me.

Again, I have no idea how to code it, or how hard it would be to add. But, there are many sites that use that feature, so I don't think it would be to hard.

If anything, has it been something the admin's have looked into? If they have, why has it not been implemented yet?

By the way, how DO you turn on the built in spell checker in Firefox? :?:

Thanks,

--Brian

I dont think there should be a spelling check added here, the problem is when its stupid grammar mistakes, or people typing like they are sending a text message.

Brian, When I get back I can look into adding the same system that TPR uses, as it is free. When I had looked previously most of the other types have been pay versions.
