Can I use my own Avatar as opposed to one of the preselected ones? Can I email it to someone and have them upload it? Thanks!

No.
The reason is because I don't want people taking images from other sites to use as avatars.

his avatar isnt anything stolen. You can tell its a picture of his own car, taken by him.

Yeah, but if I made the exception from him then I would have to make it for everyone. Plus, it's not really possible for me to give him his own custom avatar.

Yeah i just realized that with phpbb you cant really asign an avatar to a certain user without also making it available to all users

You can if you put the user in a group. But it would be a pain to set up. I think that's the only way to do it, I haven't really looked into all that much.

I know this probably won't work, but I've taken the four avatars I like best from this site and combined them into one.
Could I use this as my avatar? It is 110 pixels x 110 pixels and 7.13 KB.

As said above by him, hes not going to give out custom avatars or else he would have to let everyone do so.

would it be possible to submit an avatar to add to the site, then? I've created one that I'd like to use. I've got a host for it too so that's no problem. I don't mean to be difficult, I just prefer to be original.

No, Sorry, Having an image hosted off-site delays the loading times of the pages, and can wreak havoc if that server goes down.
