I think it would be cool to have a quick reply feature on the forums. It would reduce loading times and be quite handy. It's not neccesary but I really like using it and it's nice not having to load up the reply page and stuff....It can be found here http://www.phpbb.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=76352

I was thinking about doing that on my forums. It is really a nice feature and really easy to install.

As long as you back up the files and know a little HTML code editing you should be fine. Then if your forums are having problem when your done the you replace the moded files with the backups, and everything should be fine. But before you start make sure you know what you doing.

No, just read it now. See I care :). (I was in California when you posted this, and when I came back this forum was filled with T_Biggs complaints and other stuff so im just catching up)Ive thought about it before as well, when I get time one day and feel like messing around with the forums I might do it. Time will tell, I got alot of other stuff on the list to do before that though lol.

Three months later, it is... But anyways, edit the template file, make it look better. Being flush against the left margin looks bad. The way it is now, it does look like a mod. It doesn't fit. Find a way to make it blend in seemlessly. Also, I see you've added a forum rules link on the top. And, a new forum rules page. Question: Why did you leave a polls section? We don't have polls on these boards.

As for the Quick Replies, I think it looks fine when you don't have the moderator controls right above it. And the Forum Rules section was made a bit before we took the Polls off the site, I just forgot to add the link to the top of the page lol. Also, whatever I did today while messing around with the Forums seems to have made them regain the speed they used to have. Im not sure what I did but did anybody else notice a change in speed or is it just my Internet Connection?

Dave, force everyone and yourself to use it by editing the template and removing the "Post Reply" button. Problem solved.

Most of the features are useless, the forum already converts links automatically. And, for smileys, you should know how to make a smily face without a button. :) :lol:I still think the quick reply is butt ugly, like it is stapled on or something. Do something with the template, Dave, so it fits in better. I don't use it a lot because when I scroll down and see "New Topic" and "Post Reply," I stop out of habit, and if I want to reply, I use them. Thats probably true with a lot of people. If its supposed to be quick, it should be there before the slower option. Thats what makes it quick!
