Ticket/Pass Purchasing

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

I'm so sorry if there is a thread about this already. If there is, feel free to delete this.

Anyway! My friend and I are going to the park this weekend. I have a pass and he does not. He wants to get one, however. So I have two questions for you:

1) This being my first trip of the season, I don't know what is in the coupon book. Is there perhaps a half price or even free admission for a friend coupon for this Saturday (April 25th)?

2) If there is not, do you think it would be cheaper for him to buy a pass online or buy a ticket online and upgrade it at the park? I don't know the pricing for anything so forgive me if these seem like stupid questions.

Well, thanks for the update but that still doesn't answer my question as to what you think would be cheaper...

If your friend is coming back at any time during the season he should just buy a season pass.
The cheapest ticket is online for $34.99 plus tax. But he later decides to get a season pass in the park he is going to have to buy a season pass for the $69.99 plus tax price. So he should buy the season pass!

Q101 is having a private event where the tickets are only 29.99!

May 1st, tickets are limited and the park is only opened from 6pm to 11pm : :!:

1) I'm afraid the friend discounts don't start until late May
2) If your friend wants to buy a pass, they can get it done online for 69.99. Bring the printout and they'll scan the barcode at the front gate. Then, bring it to Pass Processing and they'll finish up the process from there.

he should definitely buy a pass. The upgrade your ticket into a pass costs $69.99 according to the last urinal I used in the park. Which I believe is the cost of a season pass anyways, so rather than pay like $35 for a ticket then another $69 for a pass, might as well just pay $69 and get it over with.

I would buy a season pass online unless you want to wait till

May 25-29 for free
any weekday till June 26 (Weekdays don't start till May 8 - which is a Friday) - another weekday day is May 13th, and so on. for free
Aug 24-28 for free

If you go May 8, than you have to go in the park (get your season pass), and come out to give it to your friend.

If your friend though is going to go at least twice, I say just get the season pass.

Just some (perhaps) updated info from the Season Pass Hotline this afternoon: The cost to upgrade any ticket at the Processing Center is $55. Once you're in the park, even via free ticket, you can get a pass for $55. They stated they do not have a schedule for this price to change this season.
