Look forward to 2011

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

I noticed this on screamscape. I guess Mark Shapiro sent a letter to employees to the parks. In 2011 is the 50th anniversary of the chain. I guess in the letters he said the every single park will get a major attraction that year. I know it is a few years away but, hey it is something to look forward to.

Also since they are looking ahead at their future it seems that the chain is not worried about their financial trouble. So I think we can stop worrying about Six Flags closing.

Well more or less, it was not a letter sent to employee's, it was a release about another ride closing for 1 whole season to get a make over! While yes, they might feel they are not worried about financial trouble, They could be doing this to get the public to not be worried, and come to the park

To me, it seems at Great America, they keep adding rides to feed the Minority of the public, Versus the Majority of the guests aka coaster riders. I hope its a roller coaster

2011 is two years away. While coaster plans usually take 2-3 years, I have come to learn it is best to have zero expectations (Think Thomas Town/New Stunt Show) and hope for the best (B&M Dive Machine bleh bleh bleh)

Obviously not getting any hopes up, but hopefully something good will come for once. If it's Thomas Town or just a pain of a ride coming, I wouldn't be surprised. Where would they put a new coaster anyways if it's going to be a "big" one.

They can always remove one and if they are really creative they can still fit one in County Fair or somehwere at the front of the park...it might not be a HH expansion you never know

Obviously they need to continue their business plan even though their financial situation sucks. They need to show possible investors and creditors that they still have a solid plan that is getting the revenue they need.
