I was wondering if anyone else agrees that the East River Crawler should be renamed back to the Lobster. So that it could fit more with the orginal Marriott theming.
What's your friend's name? I'm reporting him to operations ASAP and he's going to get points and be fired!! That is unacceptable behavior at a family friendly park. Reject.
Yankee Harbor is supposed to be a New England theme. If you've ever been in that area you'd know that they have lots of seafood there, especially lobster. So it does make sense.
My favorite parts of the park to look at are the parts that were there for Marriott's.
Whizzer, amazing. Fiddler's Fling, classic. All of the old stuff just looks better. Orbit is amazing. They need to stop turning SFGAm into some 21st century bubble gum park. I want the old charm to stay there.
And they should make a museum for Six Flags Great America/Marriott's somewhere in the park. And like, bring in all of the old thing. Like the Sky Whirl cages, any old track. If they have any, old coaster cars, etc.
But Seriously, does this really need it's own topic?
99.99999% of the people that go to SFGAm dont care what its name is and 99.7% dont know its name to begin with. So to answer your question, no .
You have to take into context that in the 90's BTR's line used ERC's queue house almost daily (if your unfamiliar with BTRs line, it runs RIGHT next to ERC's line when its using the 3rd entrance only seperated by a silver rail). So in order to make the Gotham City theme more authentic they rethemed the Lobster to a more gothic theme and renamed it. Very cool idea in my opinion. While you were waiting for Batman you were scrunched between black BTR and black ERC it just made the scene feel more bad-a**.

I agree 100%. The reason why I would like it to be renamed is because it goes all agianst what Great America is all about.
It should definately be named back to Lobster. Hey, it happened to Yankee Clipper. And how would it be a financial problem besides getting the naming rights?

The East River Crawler is about the same name as Lobster excepts the first one sounds better to me. I personally think it should be called Octopus something because the Octopus is in control of the ride you are in. Who cares if the stupid lobster on top has the Octopuses eyes covered?
I would hope they get rid of this ride, and buy Kiddieland's Polyp. If not the Polyp, I wish they could theme some other ride in that spot to the Gotham scene instead of the fishing area.

What is an east river crawler? The rided is on the south east of the park. So call it couth east river crawler. Is it some bug/animal that only hangs out in the east? Lobster makes more sense.
