Hank Salemi says Great America's collection of coasters is all but complete or something like that. Does that mean the park has no real intention of adding more thrill rides? After watching those videos I realize how much I wish we would have lost V2 over Deja Vu. Especially since I have seen so many replicas (clones) of V2 this past year. I didn't realize until recently Great America has a bunch of clones except for a couple. Vu was one of out four only and three IN the same chain. Such a shame.

Thats John Curty, the first thing he says before this is that Salemi is out of town on business. At the time John Curty was the GM of the park and Hank Salemi the Park President. He was just building up the drama.

Have they changed roles recently? I thought John was still GM and Hank President.
Whoa. What's up with the big, red protective casing around the advance button on Bull's panel? Extra security to prevent the train from being accidentally dispatched? Seems kind of pointless.
The maintenence guys actually dont use those, there is a switch on the side of the control panel that they turn off/lock out. The red box is for ride operators when they are in the ride area (that way they dont have to turn off the rides power). The only ride I know of where the operators lock out the actual ride power is King Chaos

I figured it wasn't for maintenance seeing as they have a separate lockout they use. (Plus, maintenance covering one advance button wouldn't protect them. You can still run the ride with one advance/start button in maintenance mode.)
LO-TO: Now I remember. I forgot about the morning track walks. You forget these things after a while.
I was wondering this for a very long time. how do you get into media day? theres lots of you tube videos of it and I see media days and you see 7 year olds in them so how do you get in? if little kids are there can anyone get in? thanks
The kids are kids of fulltime employees who were brought so they could show kids riding it on the news, that way people could see the ride was made for kids to enjoy also. The media previews is when they take all the stock/broll footage for the ride and build up hype for the ride right before it opens. It also makes it so they can take their time with the camera's and news crews and not have to slow everything down opening day, because those camera's take a really long time to setup and mess around with (and in the case with TDK's it was sliding around a lot and the rides operation kept having to be stopped every time it went around to fix it). The people that go are newscrews, local celebrities, etc.
